• • As a Functional Operations Principal for Distributed Cloud at F5, you will be instrumental in shaping the strategic direction and operational excellence of our cutting-edge SaaS-based security, networking, and application delivery/management services. This role is designed for a strategic thinker who thrives in a fast-paced, high-impact environment, acting as a crucial force multiplier for the product management leadership team and its cross-functional partners.
• • You will be the strategic backbone of the product organization, enhancing clarity, ensuring operational efficiency, and fostering robust cross-functional alignment. Your primary focus will be on driving strategic initiatives, streamlining execution, and translating high-level product vision into measurable, actionable outcomes that propel our Distributed Cloud Services forward in the hybrid multi-cloud landscape.
• • A key responsibility involves leading the quarterly and annual strategic planning processes. This includes ensuring a clear alignment between the organization’s long-term vision and the near-term execution goals, creating a roadmap that is both ambitious and achievable.
• • You will partner closely with product management leadership to manage the operating rhythm of the product organization. This encompasses orchestrating key activities such as quarterly business reviews (QBRs), comprehensive roadmap planning sessions, and regular leadership team syncs, ensuring consistent progress and informed decision-making.
• • Acting as the primary liaison and partner with product operations, you will cultivate a strong, productive, and collaborative relationship. This partnership is essential for the seamless execution of product strategies and operational initiatives.
• • A significant part of your role will be translating high-level product strategy into concrete, actionable execution plans. This includes defining clear Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and measurable deliverables that track progress and demonstrate success.
• • You will be responsible for tracking, reporting, and driving progress against strategic goals, key value streams, and critical organizational initiatives. This ensures accountability across teams and maintains momentum towards achieving our objectives.
• • Serve as a key strategic advisor and thought partner to the product leadership team. You will contribute valuable insights to decision-making processes and help shape the overall strategic direction of the Distributed Cloud Services portfolio.
• • You will navigate complex governance processes and facilitate collaboration across various departments. This ensures seamless alignment, especially during periods of organizational change or strategic shifts, maintaining operational continuity and focus.
• • You will act as a primary connector and liaison between Product Management and essential cross-functional partners. This includes close collaboration with Engineering, Design, Go-to-Market (GTM) teams, Technology Services, Human Resources, and Finance, ensuring unified efforts and shared understanding.
• • Drive the adoption of essential tools, systems, and processes that enhance planning, execution, reporting, and decision-making. You will be adept at designing tailored solutions when necessary to address unique business needs and optimize operational workflows.
• • Beyond core responsibilities, you will also create and lead a process for tight engagement with F5 customers and the field. This involves driving proactive engagement and ensuring timely escalation of customer needs to the appropriate teams, fostering customer satisfaction and loyalty.
• • This role demands exceptional communication skills, with a proven ability to prepare executive-ready materials. Strong proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint for board decks, strategic updates, and offsite content is crucial for effectively conveying complex information to senior leadership.
• • You will leverage strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, both qualitative and quantitative, working with complex and diverse data sets. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is essential for data analysis and reporting.
