- • As a Fund Controller at Decile Group, you will be at the forefront of transforming venture capital into a powerful force for good. Your role is pivotal in ensuring the accuracy, consistency, and integrity of fund accounting across all Decile-supported venture funds. - • Your responsibilities will extend to partnering with our innovative Product and Engineering teams. This collaboration is crucial for translating complex accounting standards and unique edge cases into robust, scalable systems and workflows. As our platform continues its rapid growth, your insights will directly shape the technological infrastructure that underpins our modern venture capital operations.
- • You will be instrumental in managing the day-to-day accounting operations for a portfolio of venture capital funds. This includes overseeing the accurate and timely recording of all fund transactions, such as capital calls, distributions, investment purchases and sales, management fees, and carried interest calculations. A key aspect of your role will be the preparation and review of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with relevant accounting principles (e.g., GAAP or IFRS, as applicable to the funds).
- • You will take ownership of the capital account allocations, ensuring that partner capital accounts are accurately maintained and that distributions are calculated and processed correctly. This involves a deep understanding of partnership agreements and the ability to apply complex allocation methodologies.
- • A significant part of your role will involve managing the fund valuation process. You will work with internal teams and external valuation providers to ensure that portfolio investments are valued accurately and consistently, adhering to established valuation policies and procedures.
- • You will be the primary point of contact for external auditors and tax advisors, coordinating the annual audit process and providing all necessary documentation and support. This includes managing information requests, resolving audit queries, and ensuring timely completion of audits and tax filings.
- • You will play a key role in developing and implementing internal controls and accounting policies to ensure the integrity of financial reporting and compliance with regulatory requirements. This proactive approach will help mitigate risks and maintain the highest standards of financial governance.
- • Your expertise will be vital in analyzing and interpreting complex fund structures, investment agreements, and regulatory requirements to ensure accurate accounting treatment and compliance.

- • This position requires a strong understanding of the venture capital lifecycle, from fund inception through investment, portfolio management, and eventual exit, and how accounting principles apply at each stage.
- • You will actively participate in the onboarding of new funds onto the Decile Hub platform, ensuring a smooth and accurate transition of accounting operations.
- • Your ability to manage multiple priorities, meet tight deadlines, and maintain a high level of accuracy under pressure will be essential for success in this dynamic environment.
- • You will be expected to stay abreast of evolving accounting standards and industry best practices, particularly those relevant to private equity and venture capital funds, and to proactively implement necessary changes.

🎯 Requirements
- • Proven experience as a Fund Controller or in a similar senior accounting role within the venture capital or private equity industry.
- • Strong understanding of fund accounting principles, including capital calls, distributions, management fees, carried interest, and financial reporting.
- • Experience with financial statement preparation and review, audit coordination, and tax compliance for investment funds.
- • Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems; experience with specialized fund accounting platforms is a plus.
- • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills, with meticulous attention to detail.
- • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or equivalent certification is highly desirable.
