- • Design, build, and ship end-to-end full-stack features across Fuse’s lending platform, including backend APIs/services and frontend customer dashboards and operator tools.
- • Model and configure each client’s unique lending domain within Fuse, defining loan types, underwriting rules, debt adjustment rules, task flows, adverse action triggers, and email/e-signature templates.
- • Build and maintain client-specific automations and workflows that orchestrate the full loan lifecycle, integrating with credit bureaus, KYC providers, banking rails, and document services.
- • Ship AI-powered production features including LLM-based automations, classification and extraction pipelines, agentic workflows, and tool-using agents (e.g., MCP-style integrations) that operate on live customer data.
- • Own features end-to-end: scope implementation, write tests, deploy, monitor performance, and iterate based on production signals and customer feedback.
- • Write clean, well-tested, observable code aligned with team standards for code quality, reliability, and security in a regulated financial environment.
- • Integrate LLMs (OpenAI, Anthropic, or equivalent) into production systems—not just prototypes—with prompt engineering, structured outputs, function/tool calling, evaluation, and guardrails.
- • Apply pragmatic AI decision-making: evaluate trade-offs between AI and deterministic logic based on cost, latency, reliability, and regulatory risk in lending workflows.
- • Use AI-assisted development tools daily (e.g., Claude Code, Cursor, Copilot) with a clear understanding of their benefits and limitations in real engineering workflows.
- • Collaborate asynchronously with a distributed, remote-first team across the Americas, communicating clearly in written and spoken English.
- • Work closely with customers, product managers, and operations teams to understand real-world lending needs and translate them into technical solutions.
- • Deploy and manage services on cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or similar) with familiarity in CI/CD pipelines, observability, and operational best practices.
- • Work with relational databases (PostgreSQL) to write complex queries and design data models for transactional financial systems.
- • Contribute to a culture of rapid shipping, trunk-based development, and frequent deploys with short feedback loops.
- • Leverage internal tooling and AI agents designed to make engineers more effective, including internal copilots and automation frameworks.
- • Participate in shaping the product roadmap by directly influencing how lending operations are automated and improved for U.S. credit unions and lenders.
🎯 Requirements
- • 3+ years of professional experience as a software engineer, ideally in a full-stack role.
- • Strong proficiency with a modern backend stack (Node.js/TypeScript, Python, Go, or similar) and experience designing and consuming REST/GraphQL APIs.
- • Solid frontend experience with React (Next.js a plus), TypeScript, and modern state management; able to ship polished, responsive UIs.
- • Comfortable working with relational databases (PostgreSQL), writing non-trivial queries, and thinking about data modeling for transactional systems.
- • Experience deploying services to the cloud (AWS, GCP, or similar), with a working understanding of CI/CD, observability, and basic operational practices.
- • Comfortable working in English, both written and spoken; able to collaborate asynchronously with a distributed team.
- • Hands-on experience integrating LLMs (OpenAI, Anthropic, or equivalent) into production systems—not just prototypes or notebooks.
- • Comfort with prompt engineering, structured outputs, tool/function calling, evaluation, and guardrails for AI-driven features.
- • Experience with at least one of: retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), agentic workflows, MCP servers/clients, vector search, or LLM observability.
- • Pragmatic understanding of when to use AI versus deterministic logic, including cost, latency, reliability, and risk trade-offs in regulated environments such as lending.
- • Daily use of AI-assisted development tools (Claude Code, Cursor, Copilot, or similar) with a clear point of view on where they help and where they hurt.
