Full Job Description
đź“‹ Description
- • Own the global technical roadmap for Hitachi Energy’s mainstream dry-type transformer portfolio, translating megatrends in electrification, renewables, and grid digitalization into clear product actions that secure a market-leading position and profitable growth.
- • Conduct deep-dive technical market and segment analyses covering international standards (IEC, IEEE, UL, GB), regional regulations, and customer-specific specifications; quantify their impact on insulation systems, thermal classes, losses, safety, and eco-design to prioritize portfolio gaps and differentiation opportunities.
- • Benchmark competitors’ designs, cost structures, and value propositions on a quarterly cadence; distill findings into actionable design-to-value initiatives that cut cost, improve performance, and strengthen our green-credential story for consultants, OEMs, utilities, and EPCs worldwide.
- • Maintain and continuously refine the technical specification library for the entire mainstream dry-type range—from distribution class up to 10 MVA, 36 kV—ensuring every data sheet, CAD drawing, and compliance certificate is audit-ready and aligned with latest R&D releases.
- • Drive cross-factory performance-improvement sprints by setting KPIs (load losses, no-load losses, partial discharge, sound level, fire behavior) and coordinating root-cause analyses with HUBs in Raleigh, Savli, Cheonan, Zaragoza, and Shanghai; track savings and quality gains through to serial production.
- • Shepherd products through end-of-life phase-outs, balancing inventory, service commitments, and customer migration paths while maximizing residual margin and minimizing stranded assets.
- • Translate market requirements into crisp Market Requirement Specifications (MRS) and Technical Requirement Specifications (TRS) for new products and technology transfers; secure stakeholder sign-off from engineering, supply chain, and regional sales teams before kick-off.
- • Act as the technical conscience of the Global Product Manager during R&D stage-gate reviews, approving simulation results, test reports, and certification dossiers to guarantee that every new platform meets safety, sustainability, and total-cost-of-ownership targets.
- • Craft compelling technical collateral—white papers, e-books, webinars, and trade-show presentations—that connect product features (e.g., cast-resin vacuum encapsulation, VPI open-winding, AN/AF cooling) to customer values such as fire safety, space savings, and lower life-cycle emissions.
- • Represent Hitachi Energy at key industry events (CIGRE, IEEE PES, Middle East Energy, Elecrama) to gather first-hand customer feedback, spot emerging needs in data centers, e-mobility, and renewable integration, and feed insights straight into the product backlog.
- • Build and deliver modular training curricula for application engineers, sales teams, and factory quality personnel; ensure 100 % of frontline staff can articulate the dry-type value proposition and configure products compliantly across all regions.
- • Serve as the bridge between product management, engineering, supply chain, and marketing—translating complex technical constraints into business language and vice versa—so that every function moves in lockstep toward faster launches and higher win rates.
- • Validate product performance post-launch through field data analytics, warranty trending, and customer satisfaction surveys; iterate designs and documentation to close any residual performance or perception gaps.
- • Champion sustainability initiatives by quantifying CO₂ savings of dry-type transformers versus oil-filled alternatives, integrating recycled materials, and aligning product roadmaps with Hitachi’s 2030 carbon-neutral commitment.
