  • • Join Cohere, a pioneering AI company on a mission to scale intelligence for the benefit of humanity. We are at the forefront of developing and deploying cutting-edge AI models that power transformative experiences for developers and enterprises, ranging from sophisticated content generation and semantic search to advanced Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) and intelligent agents. Our commitment is to build AI systems that are not only powerful but also safe, secure, and aligned with global ethical standards and regulatory frameworks.
  • • As a Global Public Policy Manager, you will be an integral part of our Government Affairs and Public Policy team, playing a pivotal role in shaping Cohere's global policy strategy. This position is crucial for ensuring our compliance with the rapidly evolving landscape of AI regulations and for establishing Cohere as a recognized thought leader in critical areas such as AI privacy, safety, security, standards, and governance.
  • • Your responsibilities will span the development and analysis of global AI regulatory trends, providing strategic insights to ensure Cohere's products and operations remain compliant and ahead of the curve. You will be tasked with monitoring, analyzing, and reporting on international AI regulatory developments, with a particular focus on safety, security, privacy, and the establishment of industry standards. This proactive approach will allow us to anticipate challenges and opportunities, ensuring Cohere's continued success and responsible growth.
  • • A key aspect of this role involves cultivating Cohere's thought leadership in the AI policy space. You will be responsible for developing and publishing high-impact content, including insightful white papers, engaging blog posts, and persuasive op-eds. These materials will articulate Cohere's vision, approach, and commitment to responsible AI development, contributing to public discourse and shaping industry best practices.
  • • You will also serve as a crucial liaison for customer and stakeholder communications. This involves creating clear, concise, and accessible customer-facing materials, such as frequently asked questions (FAQs) and policy summaries. These resources will effectively communicate Cohere's unwavering commitment to compliance, ethical AI practices, and the responsible deployment of our technologies, building trust and transparency with our users and partners.
  • • External engagement is another vital component of this role. You will actively liaise with global safety and security institutes, influential industry associations, and key regulatory bodies. Your objective will be to represent Cohere's policy positions effectively, contribute meaningfully to the development of industry standards, and foster collaborative relationships that advance the responsible AI ecosystem.
  • • Success in this position hinges on seamless cross-functional collaboration. You will work hand-in-hand with internal teams, including Legal, Safety, Product, and Communications. This collaboration ensures that our policy initiatives are tightly aligned with our overarching business objectives and that our governance efforts are cohesive, integrated, and effectively implemented across the organization.
  • • This role offers a unique opportunity to influence the future of AI policy at a company that is defining the next generation of AI technology. You will be instrumental in navigating complex regulatory environments and championing Cohere's commitment to building AI that serves humanity responsibly. We are looking for an individual who is passionate about AI, adept at policy analysis, and skilled in communication, ready to make a significant impact on a global scale.
  • • The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of the global AI regulatory landscape, including emerging safety frameworks and industry standards. You will leverage your analytical and strategic thinking skills to translate complex policy issues into actionable insights and recommendations, guiding Cohere's strategic direction in public policy. Your ability to build strong relationships and collaborate effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders, both internally and externally, will be paramount to your success.
  • • This is a remote-flexible position based in Europe, offering the opportunity to work with a world-class team dedicated to pushing the boundaries of AI research and development. If you are driven by innovation, committed to ethical AI, and eager to shape the future of a rapidly evolving industry, we encourage you to apply and join us on our mission.
