Global Sourcing & Materials Manager

📋 Description

• • Own the live order tracker for all open purchase orders across global suppliers, monitoring manufacturing progress, inspection milestones, and contractual delivery dates across multiple concurrent project sites.
• • Expedite critical and at-risk orders by renegotiating delivery commitments with vendors, coordinating freight and logistics partners, and escalating to senior leadership when suppliers cannot recover on their own.
• • Lead weekly and monthly supply chain reporting, including on-time delivery rates, lead time accuracy, vendor performance scores, root cause analysis of late orders, and recovery plans presented to project managers, engineering, and leadership.
• • Act as the primary supply chain liaison across multiple project sites, aligning procurement priorities to prevent vendor capacity and logistics conflicts from causing site delays.
• • Travel to vendor facilities and project sites to validate manufacturing progress, resolve issues that cannot be addressed remotely, and build accountable supplier relationships for future orders.
• • Qualify and dual-source critical equipment categories with lead-time and capacity thresholds directly tied to the forward build pipeline for 10GW+ of compute infrastructure.
• • Ensure procurement remains permanently off the critical path to preserve schedule compression as a key competitive advantage in infrastructure deployment.
• • Develop and maintain the most accurate supply chain prediction modeling in the industry, using AI-driven forecasting to anticipate lead times, demand fluctuations, and disruptions.
• • Interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and purchase order documentation to identify scope discrepancies before they escalate into vendor disputes.
• • Communicate clearly and concisely to deliver one-page root cause analyses and recovery plans to project managers and leadership teams.
• • Coordinate material requirements across multiple global workstreams without allowing sites to compete for limited vendor capacity.
• • Maintain order-tracking systems so that any stakeholder can independently understand the status, risk, and recovery plan for every open purchase order without requiring explanation.
• • Apply international shipping knowledge, including Incoterms and customs compliance, to manage global procurement and logistics effectively.
• • Leverage supply chain analytics and project management software to optimize procurement workflows and forecast accuracy.
• • Drive extreme ownership and velocity in supply chain operations, taking initiative beyond core responsibilities to ensure project timelines are met.
• • Operate with first-principles thinking, challenging assumptions and eliminating analogies to build a supply chain that enables the fastest infrastructure build-out in history.
