đź“‹ Description

  • • Anrok is at the forefront of tax automation, empowering businesses to navigate the complexities of global expansion with unparalleled ease. In an era where the digital economy has surged sixfold over the past decade, software companies have transitioned from a state of minimal concern regarding sales tax to a critical need for meticulous monitoring, accurate calculation, and timely filing across numerous US states and international jurisdictions. This presents a significant bottleneck for businesses aspiring to transact seamlessly with customers worldwide.
  • • Anrok dismantles this complexity by integrating with billing and payment systems to automate the entire spectrum of tax monitoring, calculation, and filing. Our sophisticated, unified platform adeptly manages the perpetually evolving landscape of tax laws at municipal, state, and federal levels, liberating companies to concentrate on growth rather than compliance burdens. Our esteemed clientele includes a remarkable 40% of Forbes' Top 50 AI companies and 20% of Forbes' Top 100 Cloud companies, alongside industry leaders such as Notion, Anthropic, and Cursor. We are making compliant digital commerce a tangible reality for businesses of all sizes, fortified by over $100 million in funding from premier investors including Spark Capital, Sequoia, Index, and Khosla Ventures.
  • • We are actively seeking a highly experienced and motivated Global VAT Lead to become an integral part of our expanding tax team, based in Dublin. This pivotal role will be responsible for spearheading VAT compliance strategy and execution across all non-US markets. A key aspect of this position involves building and managing a global team of VAT subject matter experts, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
  • • You will collaborate closely with our tax operations, engineering, and customer-facing teams to ensure our cutting-edge platform consistently delivers accurate and reliable tax compliance solutions for our globally operating customers. This opportunity arises at a strategically significant moment for Anrok as we establish our Dublin office and accelerate our European expansion. It presents a unique chance to fundamentally shape Anrok's approach to global tax compliance from its inception, offering genuine ownership and high visibility across the entire organization.
  • • Key responsibilities will include:
  • • Building, mentoring, and managing a distributed team of VAT specialists, establishing clear, efficient processes, and upholding rigorous quality standards.
  • • Serving as the primary internal authority and go-to expert for all EMEA indirect tax matters, providing strategic guidance and practical solutions.
  • • Partnering proactively with our product development teams to influence and shape how Anrok addresses specific, complex tax challenges. This includes navigating intricate e-invoicing mandates, understanding and managing fiscal representation requirements, and ensuring compliance with country-specific filing obligations.
  • • Training and empowering our dedicated tax operations team to effectively oversee VAT compliance operations across diverse global markets, guaranteeing the accuracy and timeliness of filings for both Anrok and our valued customers.
  • • Providing crucial support for customer implementations and resolving complex escalations that involve global tax compliance intricacies.
  • • Maintaining a proactive stance on regulatory changes across relevant jurisdictions, translating these evolving requirements into actionable guidance and strategic adjustments for the business.
  • • This role demands a forward-thinking individual who can anticipate challenges, drive innovation, and contribute significantly to Anrok's mission of simplifying global tax compliance. You will be instrumental in scaling our VAT capabilities to meet the demands of our rapidly growing international customer base, ensuring Anrok remains the leading solution for businesses operating in the digital economy.

🎯 Requirements

  • • Minimum of 6 years of professional experience specifically focused on VAT, with a strong emphasis on international VAT regulations and compliance.
  • • Proven experience in managing or leading a team, demonstrating a track record of developing talent, scaling operations, and fostering a high-performance culture.
  • • Strong working knowledge of VAT registration, filing, and reporting requirements across multiple EU jurisdictions, with an understanding of key differences and complexities.
  • • Familiarity with fiscal representative arrangements and the obligations associated with tax agent relationships in various countries.

🏖️ Benefits

  • • Significant equity upside in an early-stage startup that has achieved product-market fit, offering the potential for substantial financial reward.
  • • An annual learning and development stipend to support your professional growth through books, online courses, conferences, and opportunities to share knowledge with a curious and collaborative team.
  • • Regular team offsites and social gatherings throughout the year, fostering strong team bonds and a positive company culture.
