📋 Description

• As a Go Core Client Engineer at Tailscale, you will design, implement, and operate the Go-based shared client code that powers the product’s secure network connectivity, enabling users to interconnect devices and protect networks with ease.
• Day to day, you will design and implement core client subsystems including connection management, NAT traversal, encrypted transport, and client lifecycle; ship end-to-end features with observability; diagnose performance and reliability issues; collaborate with product and platform teams; and mentor engineers while driving code quality and architectural excellence.
• Tailscale is a fully remote, distributed company founded in 2019 and backed by top-tier investors, building a simpler, safer Internet by making secure device interconnection accessible to everyone from hobbyists to multinational corporations.
• In this role, you will deepen your expertise in Go-based systems engineering, gain impact in networking and distributed systems, grow as a technical leader, and contribute to foundational infrastructure used by teams worldwide to secure and simplify their networks.

🎯 Requirements

• Strong production experience writing and shipping Go code (experience with Go is required)
• Experience operating large Go codebases and designing robust client or distributed systems
• Startup mindset: flexibility to adjust to changing priorities and thrive in an async, remote environment
• Strong written and verbal communication and the ability to collaborate across product and engineering stakeholders
