  • • As a Government Insuring Specialist at GoodLeap, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the integrity and compliance of our FHA & VA loan portfolios. This is a critical function that directly impacts our ability to provide essential financing for sustainable home solutions, empowering homeowners to adopt cleaner, more efficient technologies.
  • • Your primary responsibility will be to meticulously audit and insure FHA (Federal Housing Administration) and VA (Department of Veterans Affairs) loans. This involves a thorough review of loan documentation to ensure adherence to all federal guidelines, regulations, and GoodLeap’s internal policies.
  • • You will be the gatekeeper of compliance, verifying that all necessary paperwork is present, accurate, and properly executed before loans are insured. This requires a keen eye for detail and a deep understanding of the nuances of government-backed mortgage programs.
  • • A significant part of your role will involve collaborating closely with a dedicated team of professionals. You will work alongside loan officers, underwriters, processors, and other internal departments to resolve any discrepancies, gather missing information, and ensure a seamless and compliant loan closing process.
  • • Excellent customer service skills are paramount. While you will be focused on the technical aspects of loan insuring, you will also interact with internal stakeholders, providing clear communication, timely updates, and support to ensure files are complete and ready for insuring.
  • • You will be expected to maintain a high level of organization, managing a pipeline of loans and prioritizing tasks effectively to meet deadlines and service level agreements. This includes tracking the status of each loan through the insuring process and proactively identifying potential roadblocks.
  • • A strong understanding of government lending programs, specifically FHA and VA guidelines, is essential. You will need to stay current with any changes or updates to these regulations to ensure continuous compliance.
  • • Your work will directly contribute to GoodLeap's mission of making sustainable solutions more accessible and affordable. By ensuring the accuracy and compliance of FHA & VA loans, you help facilitate the financing that enables homeowners to invest in solar panels, batteries, energy-efficient HVAC systems, heat pumps, roofing, and windows.
  • • This role offers the opportunity to be part of a rapidly growing technology company that is at the forefront of the clean energy revolution. You will be instrumental in supporting the financing infrastructure that underpins our nation's transition to sustainable living.
  • • You will be responsible for preparing and submitting loan packages for insuring, ensuring all required documentation is included and accurately reflects the loan terms and borrower information.
  • • You will conduct post-closing reviews to confirm that all insuring requirements have been met and that the loan is in good standing.
  • • You will serve as a subject matter expert on FHA and VA insuring requirements, providing guidance and support to internal teams as needed.
  • • This position requires a proactive approach to problem-solving, identifying potential issues early in the process and working collaboratively to find effective solutions.
  • • You will maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all insuring activities within our loan origination system.
  • • The ability to work independently and manage your workload effectively in a remote environment is crucial, while also being a strong team player who contributes to a positive and collaborative work atmosphere.
  • • Your attention to detail will be critical in identifying and correcting errors in loan documentation, preventing potential issues down the line.
  • • You will contribute to the overall efficiency and success of the loan origination and insuring process, ensuring GoodLeap continues to be a leader in financing sustainable home improvements.
  • • This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about sustainability, enjoys working in a fast-paced tech environment, and possesses a strong aptitude for financial compliance and documentation review.
