Full Job Description
đź“‹ Description
- • As Group Product Manager for Partners at Primer Technologies, you will own the strategy, delivery, and outcomes for 'Primer for Partners' — a critical initiative reimagining how third-party payment service providers unlock value from Primer’s unified payment infrastructure. This role is pivotal in scaling Primer’s ecosystem by enabling partners to build, integrate, and grow on a flexible, secure platform that drives long-term commerce innovation.
- • You will set strategic direction by translating Primer’s company vision into clear, partner-focused priorities, aligning cross-functional teams around outcomes, trade-offs, and execution plans. This involves synthesizing complex input from internal product managers, engineering leads, and external partners to resolve ambiguity and make durable, evidence-based decisions that balance short-term partner needs with long-term platform health and scalability.
- • Day to day, you will lead planning and execution across multiple teams, ensuring strong sequencing, dependency management, and predictable, high-quality launches. You will resolve complex platform and ecosystem challenges by framing problems clearly, synthesizing insights from partners, merchants, and internal stakeholders, and making decisive calls on product direction, scope, quality, and technical trade-offs.
- • You will establish and nurture insight loops that ground decisions in real-world usage, partner feedback, merchant behavior, and market context — ensuring the platform evolves based on actual needs rather than assumptions. This includes creating feedback mechanisms that capture partner pain points, integration friction, and success metrics to inform continuous improvement.
- • A core responsibility is building and developing a high-performing group of product managers through coaching, feedback, and clear expectations. You will foster a psychologically safe, people-first culture where PMs are empowered to take ownership, grow their craft, and deliver impact — while modeling the values of reflection, collaboration, and mission-driven execution.
- • You will partner closely with engineering leadership on platform architecture, API design, and technical trade-offs, ensuring that product decisions are feasible, scalable, and aligned with Primer’s technical vision. This requires comfort operating in regulated, technical domains like payments, with the ability to reason about downstream implications for schemes, compliance, and operational resilience.
- • The Partners team operates at the intersection of platform strategy and ecosystem enablement — working to transform how external partners leverage Primer’s infrastructure to create unique commerce experiences. You will join a mission-driven, globally distributed team of smart, reflective individuals who are committed to building exceptional products and delivering measurable success for merchants, all while embracing the flexibility and autonomy of a remote-first culture.
- • In this role, you will learn to navigate high-stakes ambiguity in a fast-growing fintech environment, sharpen your ability to influence without authority across senior stakeholders and external partners, and deepen your expertise in platform product strategy, ecosystem dynamics, and regulated technical domains. You will achieve tangible impact by shaping a scalable partner platform that accelerates Primer’s growth, increases payment success for merchants, and establishes Primer as the go-to infrastructure for innovative payment service providers.
🎯 Requirements
- • Proven experience owning strategy and outcomes for a complex platform or ecosystem product area, ideally involving partners, integrations, or third-party developers
- • Strong product judgement with a track record of navigating ambiguity and making durable decisions in multi-stakeholder environments
- • Demonstrated ability to lead execution across multiple teams, improving delivery predictability while maintaining long-term platform quality
- • Deep product craft, including strong instincts for discovery, prioritisation, and outcome-oriented decision-making
- • Comfort operating in payments or similarly regulated, technical domains, with the ability to reason about downstream regulatory, scheme, or operational implications
- • Excellent stakeholder leadership skills, capable of influencing senior leaders and external partners through clear narratives and evidence
- • Experience partnering closely with engineering leadership on platform architecture, APIs, and technical trade-offs
- • A people-first leader who invests in developing PMs and building psychologically safe, high-performing teams
🏖️ Benefits
- • Fully remote and globally distributed work model since day one
- • Competitive share options as part of total compensation
- • Uncapped holiday policy with a minimum of 25 days required to be taken annually
- • Access to global co-working spaces and support for workations and annual company retreats
- • Provision of best-in-class equipment for your role and a £500 home office setup stipend
- • Generous learning budget for professional development and upskilling
- • Private Medical Insurance coverage
- • Access to a broad set of additional location-based perks and benefits
