đź“‹ Description
- • SpryPoint is seeking a visionary and operationally-minded Group Product Manager to lead the scaling and maturation of our SpryCIS product management organization. As a recipient of the Deloitte Technology Fast 50 Canada and Fast 500 North America awards, SpryPoint is at the forefront of modernizing the utility industry with its cloud-native customer service and operations platform. We are a rapidly growing company, backed by strategic investments from Norwest Venture Partners and Insight Partners, and we are looking for a leader who can build and refine the systems and processes necessary to support our continued hypergrowth.
- • This is a unique opportunity to shape the future of product management within a market-leading organization. You will be responsible for managing three specialized product teams, totaling 11 product professionals, all dedicated to SpryPoint's flagship SpryCIS product. Your primary focus will be on building the operational infrastructure, planning frameworks, and scalable processes that empower your team to meet the increasing demands of our business while providing crucial visibility and tools for informed decision-making.
- • As a "builder role," you will design and implement the operating systems, frameworks, and rituals that foster a high-performing product organization. This includes establishing rigorous capacity planning, creating clarity around workload management, implementing effective stakeholder engagement models, and building the foundational infrastructure that enables the transition from reactive to proactive product management.
- • You will create and refine processes and tools that not only support Product Owners but also provide essential visibility to the broader business. The ideal candidate possesses a proven track record of scaling Product Management teams through hypergrowth periods and understands how to construct sustainable systems that enable, rather than hinder, progress.
- • This role requires a player-coach mentality, where you maintain deep product knowledge and can actively contribute to complex product challenges when necessary. You will be energized by the prospect of designing capacity planning systems that deliver clarity and predictability, translating implicit strategic decisions into explicit execution frameworks, and coaching, developing, and holding teams accountable while establishing clear guardrails for success.
- • The role's responsibilities are balanced across three critical dimensions: operational management (40%), systems building (40%), and hands-on product work (20%). As the team and its systems mature, the balance will naturally shift towards more direct product leadership and less emphasis on initial systems building.
- • Your leadership will drive the evolution of the SpryCIS product management organization from its current single-team structure into three distinct, specialized teams:
- • Two SpryCIS Product Teams: Each team will consist of 4-5 Product Owners, managed by a dedicated Product Owner Team Lead. These teams will support 3-4 agile development teams each, focusing on solution design, roadmap execution, and efficient delivery. They will own the entire feature development lifecycle, from initial concept through to successful launch.
- • Product Intake Team: Comprised of 1 Team Lead and 1 Product Owner, this team will be responsible for triaging and managing the sales process and new project requirements. They will conduct early-stage discovery and scoping for new opportunities, manage the product ideation submission process, and deliver well-defined epics with preliminary solution designs to the execution teams. This team will also coordinate with the SpryCIS Product Teams on large, complex deals.
- • A key priority within the first year will be the recruitment of the Team Leads for this new structure. You will play a crucial role in facilitating the team transition while ensuring continued momentum on existing commitments and strategic initiatives. This position is about driving execution excellence, fostering operational rigor, and building a world-class product management capability that supports SpryPoint's mission to transform the essential utility industry.
- • You will be instrumental in defining and implementing best practices in product discovery, prioritization, and roadmap planning. This includes fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement within the product teams, ensuring alignment with company-wide strategic objectives, and championing the voice of the customer throughout the product development process. Your ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders, including Engineering, Sales, Marketing, and Customer Success, will be critical to the success of the SpryCIS product suite.
- • This role offers the chance to make a significant impact on a product that is critical to the success of hundreds of utility clients. You will have the autonomy to design and implement solutions that will shape how product management operates at SpryPoint for years to come, contributing directly to the company's rapid growth and market leadership. Your leadership will ensure that SpryPoint continues to deliver innovative, user-centric solutions that meet the evolving needs of the utility sector.
🎯 Requirements
- • Proven experience scaling Product Management teams, ideally within a high-growth SaaS or technology company.
- • Demonstrated ability to design, implement, and optimize operational systems, frameworks, and processes for product management (e.g., capacity planning, workload management, intake processes).
- • Strong understanding of Agile development methodologies and experience managing multiple agile teams through product owners.
- • Excellent leadership, coaching, and people management skills, with a track record of developing and empowering product professionals.
- • Strategic thinking combined with a hands-on, execution-oriented approach; ability to balance operational management, systems building, and direct product involvement.
🏖️ Benefits
- • Competitive salary and performance-based bonus opportunities.
- • Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance plans.
- • Generous paid time off (PTO) and company holidays.
- • Opportunities for professional development, training, and career advancement within a rapidly growing company.
- • Stock options or equity participation in a successful, venture-backed company.
- • A dynamic and collaborative work environment with a focus on innovation and customer success.
