- • As a Group Sales Representative specializing in Ancillary Products at Humana Inc., you will be at the forefront of expanding our reach within the group insurance market in Michigan. This pivotal role involves cultivating and nurturing relationships with benefits brokers and consultants to drive the sale and retention of Humana’s comprehensive suite of ancillary group insurance products. Your primary focus will be on engaging with new and existing accounts that have 50 or more eligible employees, with a strategic emphasis on mid-to-large market segments (100-999 and 1000+ employees).
- • Your core responsibility will be the achievement of ambitious sales objectives through persistent and effective broker development. You will be expected to establish yourself as the go-to benefits expert for brokers and consultants in your territory, possessing a deep understanding of all products within your purview. This expertise will be leveraged to deliver organized, compelling, and polished presentations that clearly articulate the value proposition of Humana's solutions, directly linking them to the specific business needs and challenges of employers.
- • A key aspect of this role is the development and execution of a comprehensive strategic plan. This plan will be designed to significantly increase sales volume and maximize profitability. You will achieve this by not only expanding the penetration of existing products but also by actively cross-selling other relevant Humana products, thereby offering a more holistic benefits solution to clients.
- • You will be tasked with identifying and developing new business opportunities, implementing strategic initiatives, and providing superior service to ensure client satisfaction and retention. This includes managing complex negotiations, positioning products, and optimizing rate levels and expanded product portfolios to drive revenue growth.
- • Building and maintaining strong, multi-faceted relationships with a diverse network of benefits brokers and consultants within your assigned territory is paramount. This network will be your primary channel for business development and growth.
- • Collaboration is essential. You will work closely with internal Humana partners and external constituents to uncover profitable growth opportunities, identify cross-sell potential within existing customer bases, and provide robust support for post-sale activities, ensuring a seamless client experience.
- • You will play an active role in coordinating finalist presentations and sales seminars, gathering testimonials, and working alongside subject matter experts to ensure the successful delivery of impactful presentations to prospective clients.
- • Active participation in key constituent meetings, including crucial finalist presentations, will be a regular part of your role, requiring you to effectively represent Humana and its offerings.
- • Meticulous tracking of all sales activities within the company’s CRM system is required. You will be responsible for maintaining up-to-date account information, ensuring data integrity for reporting and strategic planning.
- • Developing a profound understanding of Humana's business, our diverse range of Group products, and the intricate dynamics of our relationships within the brokerage community and the clients we serve is critical for success.
- • You will collaborate effectively with Ancillary Small Group Sales Representatives and Ancillary Client Executives to deepen broker and client relationships within your designated markets, fostering a unified approach to client engagement.
- • You will be instrumental in implementing and supporting new sales initiatives developed by Humana, aimed at boosting sales of existing products and facilitating the introduction and adoption of new offerings.
- • Working closely with the broader market team, you will contribute to mentoring and motivating team members, fostering a strong, positive culture that drives exceptional results.
- • Coordination with other team members and departments across Humana will be necessary to optimize the overall sales effort and ensure a cohesive client experience.
- • You will be responsible for building Humana's brand presence across the market, engaging with outside organizations and key constituents to enhance our reputation and influence.
- • Identifying other strategic relationships within the market and developing these circles of influence will be a key strategy for driving business to Humana, Inc.
- • You will continuously develop and maintain your expertise on Humana's products, industry best practices, and emerging marketplace trends, ensuring you remain a knowledgeable resource for brokers and clients.
- • In some instances, you may be required to assist with setting up new cases and participating in client enrollment processes, providing hands-on support where needed.
