- • As a Group Sanctions and Compliance Specialist at Remote Technologies Inc., you will play a critical role in ensuring the company’s global operations adhere to evolving sanctions, anti-money laundering (AML), and counter-financing terrorism (CFT) regulations, directly supporting Remote’s mission to enable compliant international hiring and payroll.
- • Your day-to-day responsibilities will include monitoring regulatory changes, advising on risk mitigation strategies, serving as a second-line escalation point for onboarding and transaction monitoring teams, drafting and maintaining compliance policies (including customer due diligence, screening, and suspicious activity reporting), coordinating audits with third-party advisors, and overseeing the control environment to ensure ongoing compliance.
- • You will join Remote’s Risk Operations – Regulatory Compliance team, part of a globally distributed, innovative organization that values autonomy, asynchronous work, and the integration of AI and automation into compliance processes, with team members spanning six continents.
- • In this role, you will deepen your expertise in global financial crime compliance, influence the design of scalable compliance systems for a fast-growing HR tech platform, and gain exposure to cross-border regulatory frameworks across the UK, EU, USA, and Canada, while developing leadership in compliance advisory and risk assessment.
🎯 Requirements
- • Proven experience in compliance roles, preferably within fintech or financial services, with demonstrable expertise in financial crime and sanctions compliance
- • Comprehensive knowledge of AML, CFT, and sanctions regulations across key jurisdictions including the UK, EU, USA, and Canada
- • Professional AML or compliance certifications (e.g., ACAMS, ICA, or equivalent)
- • Experience in second-line compliance functions; prior first-line compliance operations experience is a plus
- • Strong ability to write and speak fluent English
- • Demonstrated experience with automation and AI applications in compliance processes
