- • As a Hawaiian-English Phone Interpreter for LanguageLine Solutions, you will play a vital role in breaking down language and cultural barriers for limited-English speakers and the Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing across critical sectors such as healthcare, government, law enforcement, and emergency services.
- • Your day-to-day responsibilities include responding promptly to on-demand interpreting sessions, accurately rendering meaning between Hawaiian and English speakers, maintaining professionalism and neutrality during emotionally charged or complex conversations, and adhering to strict interpretation protocols without omissions or additions.
- • You will join a certified ASTM and ISO-compliant organization recognized as a Great Place to Work and a top employer for remote work, supported by Senior Language Specialists and dedicated technology and interpreter help desks.

🎯 Requirements
- • Fluency in Hawaiian and English with strong cultural competency and ability to navigate regional and accent differences
- • Excellent listening, retention, and note-taking skills to ensure high accuracy during interpretation
- • Ability to remain neutral, objective, and detached during sensitive conversations, including those involving end-of-life topics, medical procedures, or identity-related matters
- • High school diploma or equivalent; prior experience or education in language-related fields such as teaching, translation, or interpretation is preferred
- • Must be at least 18 years old, legally authorized to work in the U.S. without visa sponsorship, and able to pass a background check and/or drug screen if required by location
- • Access to a dedicated personal device (Windows, MacOS, ChromeOS, iPadOS, Android, or iOS/Android smartphone) with high-speed internet (minimum 5 Mbps download, 3 Mbps upload, ping ≤300 ms, jitter ≤30 ms) and a quiet, secure workspace
