📋 Description

• As Head of BI at Beach Bum, Inc., you will own the vision, strategy, and execution of the company’s data roadmap, driving the transformation from raw-data querying to a mature, governed modeling layer that empowers all analytics teams and game studios with trusted, scalable insights. This role is pivotal in positioning Beach Bum at the forefront of modern data operations by integrating AI-driven solutions into data workflows and ensuring data integrity, availability, and reliability across the organization.
• You will design and oversee scalable data pipelines and modern ETL/ELT processes using AWS S3, Glue, and Redshift, while partnering closely with management, product owners, and game studios to translate business vision into actionable KPIs, strategic growth drivers, and self-service analytics capabilities that enable data-informed decision-making at every level.
• You will build, mentor, and lead a high-performing BI and data engineering team, establishing development standards, championing data literacy, and fostering a culture where governed datasets replace ad-hoc raw-table querying, ensuring consistency, accuracy, and trust in data across all game studios and business units.
• You will define and implement comprehensive data governance and monitoring protocols, leveraging AI tools for intelligent data quality checks and automated pipeline generation, while driving adoption of new data practices through strong change-management and communication skills that bridge technical and business stakeholders.
• In this role, you will deepen your expertise in modern data architecture, AI-augmented data engineering, and gaming-specific analytics — including retention models, monetization funnels, LiveOps metrics, and player segmentation — while gaining leadership experience in scaling data initiatives within a fast-growing, innovative gaming environment backed by Voodoo’s global reach.
• You will have the opportunity to leave a lasting legacy by designing and rolling out a semantic/aggregation layer that transforms how data is consumed across the company, setting a new standard for data excellence and enabling Beach Bum to innovate faster, smarter, and with greater confidence in its data-driven strategies.

🎯 Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in BI Development or Data Engineering, with at least 2 years leading or managing a team in a large-scale environment.
• Expert-level SQL skills with the ability to optimize complex queries and mentor others in performance tuning.
• Proficiency in Python for data manipulation and automation (e.g., Pandas, PySpark).
• Deep familiarity with data visualization tools such as Tableau, Looker, or Power BI, with a focus on storytelling through data.
• Strong change-management and communication skills – able to drive adoption of new data practices across teams and bridge the gap between technical and business stakeholders.
