đź“‹ Description
- • As Head of Data at HappyCo Pty Ltd, you will lead the strategic vision and execution of the company’s data capabilities, transforming raw data into actionable insights that drive business growth, product innovation, and customer satisfaction. This role is pivotal in establishing HappyCo as a data-forward organization where decisions are grounded in evidence, enabling scalable impact across product, marketing, operations, and finance.
- • You will build and mentor a high-performing data team, fostering a culture of curiosity, rigor, and collaboration while ensuring data integrity, accessibility, and governance across all touchpoints. Your leadership will directly influence how HappyCo understands its users, optimizes its platform, and measures success — making data not just a function, but a core competitive advantage.
- • Day to day, you will define the data strategy aligned with company OKRs, prioritize initiatives that deliver the highest ROI, and partner with engineering, product, and executive stakeholders to translate business questions into analytical frameworks.
- • You will oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of scalable data pipelines, data warehouses (e.g., Snowflake, BigQuery, or Redshift), and ETL/ELT processes, ensuring timely, accurate, and secure data flow from ingestion to consumption.
- • You will lead the development of dashboards, reports, and self-service analytics tools using platforms like Looker, Tableau, or Power BI, enabling non-technical teams to explore data independently while maintaining consistency and accuracy.
- • You will establish data quality standards, metadata management practices, and data governance policies to ensure compliance with privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA) and build trust in data across the organization.
- • You will partner with product and engineering teams to instrument key user behaviors and product events, enabling deep funnel analysis, cohort studies, and A/B test evaluation to inform feature prioritization and roadmap decisions.
- • You will collaborate with marketing and growth teams to measure campaign effectiveness, customer acquisition cost (CAC), lifetime value (LTV), and channel attribution, optimizing spend and improving ROI.
- • You will work closely with finance to support forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis, providing data-driven insights that improve financial planning and operational efficiency.
- • You will stay current with emerging trends in data technology, machine learning applications, and analytics best practices, evaluating and recommending new tools or methodologies that could enhance HappyCo’s analytical maturity.
- • You will represent the data function in leadership meetings, communicating complex findings in clear, compelling narratives tailored to technical and non-technical audiences alike.
- • About the team or company: HappyCo is a remote-first, values-driven organization where psychological safety, continuous learning, and mutual respect are non-negotiables. We believe work should be energizing, not draining — and we build our culture around trust, autonomy, and purpose. Our team spans the USA, united by a shared mission to make work happy for everyone we serve.
- • You will have the opportunity to shape the data function from the ground up in a growing tech company, leaving a lasting legacy on how data is valued, used, and celebrated. You’ll grow not only as a technical leader but as a strategic business partner, gaining exposure to cross-functional challenges and executive decision-making — all while working in an environment that celebrates growth, humility, and impact over ego.
