📋 Description

• As the Head of Data & Analytics at Vanta, you will lead the strategic vision and execution of the company’s data infrastructure and analytics capabilities, ensuring data is collected, governed, and leveraged to drive business outcomes across Product, Marketing, Revenue, and Finance teams. This role is critical to Vanta’s mission of helping businesses earn and prove trust by enabling continuous, real-time security monitoring and compliance through a world-class AI-powered data platform.
• You will partner directly with executives and functional leaders to align data priorities with company goals, foster a culture of data-driven decision-making through compelling storytelling and clear communication, and create AI-first self-serve experiences that empower every employee to access and act on data independently.
• You will lead and grow two high-impact teams: (1) a centralized team of data scientists and analysts who embed across EPD squads to deliver actionable insights, develop analytics roadmaps, and ensure consistent measurement of product success; and (2) a data engineering team responsible for building, operating, and maintaining Vanta’s internal analytics infrastructure using Snowflake, DBT, Dagster, and related technologies to ensure scalable, secure, and governed data pipelines.
• You will establish unified data definitions, governance processes, and mappings to create a single source of truth across systems, while driving operational effectiveness in how data infrastructure is built and scaled — leveraging automation and AI responsibly to amplify team impact and efficiency.

🎯 Requirements

• 15+ years of experience in data engineering and analytics with a proven track record of leading high-performing teams in these domains
• Demonstrated deep subject matter expertise in SaaS business models, spanning product-led growth, startups, sales-led growth, and large enterprises
• Deep understanding of modern data stacks (Snowflake, dbt, Airflow, etc.), data modeling, and integration frameworks, with ability to architect and lead teams in building reliable, scalable analytics foundations
• Skill in translating complex data into clear, actionable insights that shape strategy and priorities, and experience leading centralized teams of analysts and data scientists who provide embedded support to business units
• Strong engineering and automation-driven approach to systems architecture, including experience using systems automation and AI to drive efficiency in business operations
• Experience establishing unified data definitions, governance processes, and mappings to ensure a single source of truth across systems and teams
• Openness to using AI responsibly to amplify skills, with curiosity, willingness to learn, and sound judgment in applying AI to improve efficiency and impact
