📋 Description

• The Head of Detection Engineering at S&P Global leads the strategy, development, and implementation of security monitoring, detection, and automation logic, playing a critical role in protecting the organization against modern cyber threats by deploying AI-driven capabilities and managing integrations across SIEM and SOAR platforms.
• Day-to-day responsibilities include defining and executing a multi-year security engineering roadmap aligned with business goals, managing a global team of Security Engineers, interfacing with Cloud, Infrastructure, and technology teams across divisions, and collaborating with industry experts to enhance AI-enabled detections and SOC workflows.
• The role operates within S&P Global’s Cyber Defense organization, reporting to the Head of Cyber Defense, and supports the company’s mission of delivering Essential Intelligence through a team of over 35,000 employees committed to integrity, discovery, and partnership.
• The individual will achieve impact by scaling detection engineering practices, improving threat detection and response capabilities, driving innovation in security automation, and contributing to the evolution of S&P Global’s security posture in a fast-paced, collaborative, and solution-oriented environment.

🎯 Requirements

• 10+ years in security engineering and/or security tools management
• 5+ years leading teams including hiring, performance management, and org design
• Proven experience working in an environment with hybrid-cloud infrastructure
• Experience with leading SIEM, SOAR, and Threat-Intelligence products across the industry
• Working knowledge of key SIEM and SOAR platforms such as Splunk, SecOps, Xsoar, Sentinel, D3
• Strong background in application security and modern SDLC/CI/CD practices
