- • Lead and grow the engineering team from inception, balancing hands-on development with strategic leadership in a stealth AI industrial commerce startup.
- • Architect and own the core platform including data pipelines, AI/ML integration layers, machine vision systems, and scalable cloud infrastructure for an industrial aftermarket commerce OS.
- • Ingest and transform complex structured industrial data to bridge the gap between equipment manufacturing and field servicing workflows.
- • Build and oversee a mobile-first product experience leveraging camera, LiDAR, and on-device sensors for AI-powered visual identification in the field.
- • Design and ship robust integrations with OEM ERP and DMS systems to ingest real-time inventory, pricing, and product data at enterprise scale.
- • Partner with Product and Data Science teams to translate messy real-world industrial workflows into automated, intelligent systems.
- • Drive best practices in security, CI/CD, observability, testing, and documentation across all engineering deliverables.
- • Establish the long-term technical vision for AI-driven identification, predictive data enrichment, and closed-loop fulfillment execution.
- • Manage and mentor distributed engineering contributors, including nearshore and offshore teams, to build a high-performance engineering culture.
- • Deliver rapid MVP iterations while laying the technical foundation for enterprise-grade scalability and reliability.
- • Remain hands-on in early stages—writing code, reviewing PRs, and guiding architecture decisions as the team scales from 0 to 1 and beyond.
- • Represent the technical vision credibly to customers, investors, and strategic OEM partners.
- • Operate in a high-ambiguity, high-growth startup environment with full ownership over engineering direction and execution.
- • Collaborate with UP.Partners ecosystem (product, design, analytics, legal, talent, finance, VC) to accelerate product development and market entry.
- • Build a platform that starts with AI-powered visual identification and expands into a full commerce layer: cross-referencing, fit confirmation, inventory management, and embedded ordering.
- • Solve a critical, un-digitized problem in a $20–30B+ industrial aftermarket where parts are misidentified and returned at staggering rates.
🎯 Requirements
- • 8+ years in software engineering, including 4+ years leading small, high-output teams in early-stage environments
- • Strong backend or full-stack background with ability to remain hands-on in code and architecture
- • Proven experience scaling B2B enterprise SaaS platforms with real-time data pipelines and system integrations
- • Expertise in cloud architecture, CI/CD pipelines, observability, and distributed systems
- • Experience working with AI/ML platforms (e.g., predictive models, computer vision, optimization engines, LLM copilots)
- • Experience overseeing or building mobile app products (iOS/Android) with familiarity on-device sensor capabilities (camera, LiDAR)
