  • • As the Head of Events for the EMEA region, you will be instrumental in shaping and executing OpenAI's event strategy, a critical component in fostering community, driving marketing efforts, and building trust around groundbreaking AI technology.
  • • This pivotal role involves leading a dynamic team of event professionals, including Producers and Event Managers, as well as managing contingent workforce partners, to deliver exceptional programs across diverse European markets.
  • • You will be responsible for translating high-level business priorities and product innovations into tangible, impactful live experiences, ranging from large-scale flagship conferences and executive roundtables to intimate community gatherings and developer-focused events.
  • • A key aspect of this position is establishing and scaling a robust regional events organization. This includes defining clear operating models, implementing effective resourcing frameworks, and setting high production standards to ensure consistent, high-quality event execution across various cultural and market landscapes, mirroring the operational excellence seen in US-based initiatives.
  • • You will oversee the end-to-end delivery of event programs, ensuring seamless coordination, clear accountability, and operational efficiency among regional teams and external partners.
  • • The role demands the creation and implementation of scalable systems, comprehensive playbooks, and a strong vendor ecosystem. These elements are crucial for enabling the efficient growth of OpenAI's event footprint without compromising the quality of the attendee experience or the meticulous craft that defines our brand.
  • • Close collaboration with cross-functional leaders in Marketing, Go-To-Market (GTM), Product, Policy, and Communications is essential. This partnership will ensure that regional event programs not only advance strategic business objectives but also actively contribute to strengthening trust and fostering a vibrant community across the EMEA region.
  • • You will act as a strategic visionary, defining the long-term roadmap for events in EMEA, while also being operationally hands-on, ready to dive into execution to remove obstacles, elevate program quality, and ensure every event leaves a lasting, positive impression that is distinctly OpenAI.
  • • This leadership position requires a deep understanding of how events can serve as a powerful engine for connection, engagement, and education, bringing together a diverse audience including developers, customers, executives, policymakers, creatives, and emerging innovators.
  • • You will mentor and develop a high-performing regional team, cultivating a collaborative, positive, and results-oriented culture that values creativity, shared ownership, and a commitment to excellence.
  • • Success in this role hinges on balancing strategic foresight with a pragmatic, hands-on approach to problem-solving, ensuring that complex and fast-moving environments are navigated with calm leadership and sound judgment.
  • • The ideal candidate will possess a strong belief in the transformative potential of technology to positively impact the world, coupled with a passion for storytelling, design, and creating unparalleled guest experiences.
  • • This role is based in London, UK, and will necessitate regular travel throughout the EMEA region and potentially globally to oversee operations and engage with stakeholders.
  • • You will be responsible for managing budgets, negotiating with vendors, and ensuring all events align with OpenAI's brand guidelines and mission.
  • • The Head of Events will also be tasked with measuring the success of events through key performance indicators (KPIs), providing insights and recommendations for future strategies.
  • • This is an opportunity to build and shape the future of event marketing and community engagement for one of the world's leading AI research and deployment companies, making a significant impact on how the world understands and interacts with artificial intelligence.
  • • You will be a key player in fostering a sense of community and shared purpose among diverse stakeholders, ensuring that OpenAI's mission to benefit all of humanity is effectively communicated and experienced through thoughtfully curated events.
  • • The role requires a proactive approach to identifying new opportunities for event engagement and innovation within the rapidly evolving AI landscape.
  • • You will champion best practices in event management, sustainability, and accessibility, ensuring all programs are executed responsibly and inclusively.
  • • Ultimately, you will be the driving force behind creating memorable, impactful, and strategically aligned events that solidify OpenAI's presence and influence across the EMEA region.
