- • As the Head of Finance at Decile Group, Inc., you will be instrumental in shaping and scaling the financial operations of a groundbreaking company poised to revolutionize the venture capital landscape. We are on a mission to democratize venture capital, empowering the launch of 10,000 next-generation venture capital firms by 2030, thereby fundamentally transforming the industry. Our integrated platform encompasses education through VC Lab, AI-enabled fund operations via Decile Hub, rapid fund launches with Start Fund, and direct capital deployment through Decile Capital. This holistic approach makes venture capital more accessible to innovators with exceptional ideas and execution capabilities.
- • In this pivotal role, you will oversee and optimize the entire finance function, ensuring robust day-to-day operational finance management. You will collaborate closely with our venture capital fund accounting and finance teams, providing critical insights and strategic direction to support their operations. Your primary focus will be on building and strengthening the financial infrastructure necessary to support the rapid scaling of our multifaceted business.
- • You will be responsible for developing and implementing financial strategies, policies, and procedures that align with our ambitious growth objectives. This includes managing budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, cash flow management, and ensuring compliance with all relevant financial regulations.
- • A key aspect of your role will involve working with our various business units – VC Lab, Decile Hub, Start Fund, and Decile Capital – to understand their financial needs, provide support, and ensure financial alignment across the organization. You will be a trusted advisor to leadership, offering data-driven insights to inform strategic decision-making and drive profitability.
- • You will play a crucial role in financial modeling and analysis, identifying key performance indicators (KPIs) and developing dashboards to track financial health and operational efficiency. This will involve analyzing trends, identifying risks and opportunities, and recommending proactive measures to mitigate financial exposure and capitalize on growth prospects.
- • Furthermore, you will be responsible for managing relationships with external stakeholders, including auditors, banks, and investors, ensuring transparency and accuracy in all financial communications.
- • The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in finance, ideally within a high-growth fintech startup environment, coupled with a genuine interest in or prior experience within the venture capital industry. Your ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic startup setting is essential, as you will be encouraged to contribute across all facets of the business, gaining invaluable exposure to every aspect of venture capital.
- • This is a unique opportunity to significantly expand your expertise in the venture capital field, working at the forefront of innovation and contributing to the future of venture investing. You will have the autonomy to build and refine financial processes, implement best practices, and directly impact the company's trajectory.
- • We are looking for a proactive, detail-oriented, and strategic thinker who can translate complex financial data into actionable insights. Your leadership will be vital in fostering a culture of financial discipline and accountability throughout the organization.
- • You will be responsible for overseeing accounts payable and receivable, managing payroll, and ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial records. This includes implementing and maintaining effective internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance.
- • As we scale, you will be instrumental in evaluating and implementing new financial technologies and systems to enhance efficiency and provide better financial visibility. Your input will be critical in selecting and integrating tools that support our growth.
- • You will also contribute to fundraising efforts by preparing financial projections, supporting due diligence processes, and communicating financial performance to potential investors.
- • This role offers an unparalleled chance to be part of a mission-driven company that is making a tangible difference in the venture capital ecosystem. You will work alongside a passionate and dedicated team committed to innovation and positive impact.
- • We encourage remote candidates to apply, with a preference for those based in the U.S., particularly in the Bay Area, to facilitate collaboration and potential in-person engagements.
- • Please be aware of potential scams. Decile Group and VC Lab will never conduct hiring interviews via chat, request money, ask you to purchase equipment, or solicit financial information. Do not engage with individuals impersonating our employees outside of official channels.
🎯 Requirements
- • Proven experience as a Head of Finance, Finance Manager, or similar senior finance role, preferably within a high-growth startup environment.
- • Strong understanding of financial principles, accounting standards (GAAP), financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management.
- • Experience with financial modeling, data analysis, and the ability to translate complex financial information into actionable insights.
- • Familiarity with fintech or venture capital industries is highly desirable.
- • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments and with external stakeholders.
🏖️ Benefits
- • Competitive salary and equity package.
- • Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance.
- • Generous paid time off and holidays.
- • Remote work flexibility (U.S. based).
- • Opportunity to work in a rapidly growing, mission-driven company at the forefront of venture capital innovation.
- • Professional development and growth opportunities within a dynamic startup environment.
