Full Job Description
đź“‹ Description
- • Own the P&L for BioRender Graphing as a General Manager, responsible for both full-service and self-service revenue streams, including pricing, packaging, acquisition, expansion, and retention strategies.
- • Establish product-market fit by identifying which scientists, research workflows, and use cases drive adoption, then build product strategy with conviction to target those segments.
- • Develop and execute the product roadmap by translating competitive insights, user research, and revenue data into clear prioritization decisions and product direction.
- • Shape go-to-market strategy by partnering with product marketing to define the product narrative, competitive positioning, and launch sequencing critical to GTM success.
- • Drive company-wide shift to a multi-product sales motion through sales enablement and direct involvement in key customer deals.
- • Lead the growth of a newly launched product category that has seen no meaningful innovation in decades, competing against a deeply entrenched incumbent.
- • Measure success by product adoption and revenue growth, not just feature delivery, with accountability for hitting hard revenue targets.
- • Operate in a highly ambiguous, unstructured environment where no playbook exists and the role is being built from scratch, creating clarity and structure where none exists.
- • Build alignment across engineering, go-to-market, and product marketing teams without formal authority, earning trust through user obsession, data-driven insight, and clear communication.
- • Leverage deep understanding of scientific users to design solutions that solve real problems in research communication, even without a formal science background.
- • Scale a 0-to-1 product into a business with potential to exceed the revenue of BioRender’s flagship product, leveraging existing distribution channels and user base.
- • Collaborate directly with the Chief Product Officer and serve as the primary product leader for the Graphing initiative.
🎯 Requirements
- • Proven track record building a 0-to-1 product and scaling it to meaningful ARR
- • Experience owning a P&L or hard revenue target with demonstrated ability to connect product decisions to business outcomes
- • Experience competing in markets with deeply entrenched incumbents
- • Ability to earn alignment without authority and build credibility through insight, user obsession, and clear communication
- • Comfort operating in unstructured, ambiguous environments where there is no playbook and the role is being built from scratch
- • Science background is a plus; curiosity about science and ability to deeply understand scientific users is required
🏖️ Benefits
- • Mission-driven work: contribute to improving scientific communication and accelerating discovery, with BioRender figures appearing in over 54,000 publications
- • Access to a world-class NPS and a global community of millions of loyal users across 200+ countries
- • Company backed by top investors including Y Combinator and Dimension Capital, with financial performance exceeding top-tier SaaS companies
- • Remote-first culture with team members across Canada and the U.S., offering flexibility to work from anywhere
