- • Kraken is at the forefront of the cryptocurrency revolution, driven by a mission to accelerate global adoption and empower individuals with financial freedom and inclusion. As a fully remote company with a global presence, we foster a culture rooted in crypto values, attracting top talent dedicated to building the future of digital assets. We are seeking a highly impactful and hands-on Head of M&A Integrations to spearhead our strategic acquisitions and ensure they translate into tangible, sustained value for Kraken. This executive role is critical as we enter one of the most acquisitive phases in our history, demanding a leader who can design, build, and scale integration programs within a fast-paced, rapidly growing environment.
- • In this pivotal position, you will collaborate closely with our Corporate Development team from the earliest stages of the deal lifecycle. Your primary responsibility will be to shape the integration thesis, transforming high-level strategic objectives into actionable operational plans. You will translate identified value drivers into concrete steps, ensuring alignment with synergy targets and overall business goals. This involves a deep dive into potential acquisitions during the diligence phase, identifying integration challenges and opportunities, and proactively planning for a seamless transition.
- • You will own the end-to-end integration process, from initial deal assessment and planning through to the long-term realization of value, typically spanning 12-24 months post-close. This requires a comprehensive understanding of how to integrate diverse business functions, including product development, engineering, go-to-market strategies, finance, operations, and legal. You will be instrumental in defining integration frameworks that can be consistently applied across multiple acquisitions each year, aiming for a target of 5-10 integrations annually.
- • A key aspect of your role will be to architect and implement scalable M&A integration playbooks. These playbooks will serve as the foundation for our integration efforts, ensuring consistency, efficiency, and best practices are followed across all acquired entities. You will define clear integration methodologies and governance models that facilitate effective decision-making and execution.
- • You will be responsible for building robust synergy tracking systems and instilling a culture of execution discipline across all involved functional teams. This involves setting clear performance indicators, monitoring progress against synergy targets, and proactively addressing any roadblocks or deviations. Your ability to identify additional synergy opportunities post-close and drive their extraction will be crucial for maximizing the return on our M&A investments.
- • This role demands exceptional stakeholder management skills. You will partner closely with the COO and other C-suite executives, ensuring alignment on integration strategies, clarifying priorities, and resolving complex issues that arise during the integration process. You will serve as the central point of contact and a critical bridge between Corporate Development, Product, Engineering, Finance, Operations, and Legal teams, fostering collaboration and clear communication.
- • Maintaining relentless visibility into integration risks, timelines, interdependencies, and the overall progress of value realization is paramount. You will establish high-performance operating rhythms across all workstreams, ensuring that progress is tracked, reported, and acted upon effectively. This includes managing a growing integration team, empowering them to deliver exceptional results and fostering a collaborative and high-achieving environment.
- • The ideal candidate will possess a proven track record of direct, hands-on leadership in M&A integrations at scale, ideally within fast-paced, high-growth environments. Experience in fintech or other transformation-driven industries is highly desirable, though direct crypto experience is a plus but not a strict requirement. You should be comfortable operating in the long tail of integration, ensuring that the benefits of acquisitions are realized over the long term.
- • This is a unique opportunity to shape the future of Kraken by driving strategic growth through successful acquisitions. If you are energized by ambiguity, thrive on solving complex integration challenges, excel at executive alignment, and are passionate about designing systems that scale, this role offers a central position in one of the most transformational mandates in the crypto industry. Join us in building the future of crypto and empowering financial freedom for all.
