• • As the Head of Policy for Europe/UK at Adyen, you will be instrumental in shaping the future of payments and financial services across two of the world's most dynamic markets. This senior, externally facing role is pivotal to Adyen's strategic growth and operational resilience, placing you at the forefront of regulatory engagement and policy development.
• • You will be responsible for developing and driving Adyen's policy agenda across the European Union and the United Kingdom. Your primary objective will be to advance policy outcomes that facilitate seamless global commerce, simplify complex payments and financial products for our diverse customer base, and ensure the continued safety and soundness of the financial ecosystem.
• • This role demands a unique blend of sharp business acumen and profound regulatory expertise. You will act as a crucial bridge, translating intricate technical realities into credible policy positions and, conversely, interpreting policy directions into tangible product opportunities that drive innovation and customer value.
• • A core responsibility will be to own and advance Adyen's regional policy priorities. This includes championing initiatives that enable cross-border commerce, reduce friction within payment and banking systems, and foster greater harmonization and competition across the European market. Your efforts will directly contribute to Adyen's ability to operate effectively and expand its reach.
• • You will collaborate closely with internal teams, including Product, Regulatory, Legal, Compliance, and Risk departments. This cross-functional partnership is essential for translating evolving regulatory landscapes into actionable product strategies and identifying potential risks and opportunities.
• • A significant part of your role will involve shaping Adyen's product roadmaps by influencing the development of practical, workable policy outcomes. Your insights will ensure that Adyen's offerings remain compliant, competitive, and aligned with regulatory expectations.
• • Leading senior-level regulatory engagement is paramount. You will be tasked with cultivating and maintaining trusted, high-level relationships with key stakeholders in EU and UK regulatory bodies, central banks, and policymaking institutions. Representing Adyen in high-stakes forums with unwavering judgment and credibility will be a critical function.
• • You will be responsible for delivering high-quality external communications and advocacy. This involves working in tandem with our Regulatory and Communications teams to articulate Adyen's official positions, drive participation in consultations, craft compelling submissions, and deliver impactful briefings that yield positive outcomes for both Adyen and its customers.
• • Building Adyen's thought leadership and fostering strategic coalitions will be another key area of focus. You will work to strengthen Adyen's influence within industry groups and among ecosystem partners, advocating for a pragmatic policy agenda that supports innovation while upholding robust safeguards.
• • Furthermore, you will play a vital role in enabling customer participation in policy discussions. By collaborating with our Regulatory and Commercial teams, you will create targeted opportunities for merchants and platforms to engage in policy dialogues through well-organized briefings, insightful roundtables, and coordinated advocacy efforts.
