- • Lead product development strategy and trajectory within The Economist AI Lab, shaping early-stage product and service concepts for a world-leading media brand adapting to AI advances.
- • Be the voice of the future customer, coordinating design, research, and technical exploration to turn ideas into testable concepts, and lead validation efforts from problem framing to beta launches.
- • Work with a small, innovative team at the heart of The Economist Group’s AI research programme, driving innovation that aligns with editorial independence, intellectual rigour, and classical liberal values.
- • Develop high-level product visions, create roadmaps, and translate them into product briefs and user stories while collaborating with editorial, technology, business, and external stakeholders to ensure strategic alignment.
- • Thrive in uncertain, formative environments by connecting emerging technical capabilities—especially Generative AI—to customer needs, embracing fast-failure and autonomous decision-making in a dynamic setting.
🎯 Requirements
- • Experience leading product development involving emerging or experimental technologies, ideally including Generative AI
- • Experience working with product development frameworks and methodologies within an early-stage, 0-1 product lifecycle
- • Experience leading within B2C product contexts, particularly in content-led industries such as news, media, and entertainment
- • Skilled at communicating complex product and technology ideas clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences
- • Understands The Economist’s core values of classical liberalism, intellectual rigour, and editorial independence
