📋 Description

• Lead and define Morpho’s comprehensive security strategy across corporate, IT, cloud, infrastructure, application, supply-chain, identity, and operational security domains.
• Build and scale the security function from the ground up, hiring and developing talent in security operations, application security, and infrastructure security.
• Remain hands-on in early stages, personally executing critical security tasks including threat modeling, architecture reviews, control implementation, and incident command.
• Design and implement a coherent governance framework that integrates tooling and controls, avoiding siloed or ad-hoc security measures.
• Own end-to-end incident response: develop runbooks, establish severity and escalation protocols, manage incident command, and lead market communication during security events.
• Establish and manage a counterparty security program for curators and ecosystem partners, including identity verification, operational diligence, and bidirectional incident-coordination channels.
• Drive Morpho’s certification roadmap (e.g., SOC 2, ISO 27001), ensuring sustainable compliance that aligns with both regulatory requirements and operational reality.
• Serve as Morpho’s primary external representative on security matters to fintechs, financial institutions, crypto exchanges, and ecosystem partners.
• Partner closely with Engineering, Protocol, and Integrations teams to embed security into infrastructure, deployment pipelines, and third-party integrations through direct ownership and influence.
• Conduct deep analysis of the path-to-funds attack surface to identify and prioritize the highest-severity risks and quick wins within the first 30 days.
• Publish a prioritized, evidence-based security roadmap with clear sequencing, ownership, and rationale for deferred items, securing leadership alignment within 60 days.
• Validate incident response capability through at least one tabletop exercise within 90 days and ensure key controls are enforced, not optional.
• Establish a documented, operational rhythm with Engineering, Protocol, and Integrations teams to ensure consistent security outcomes across the organization.
• Represent Morpho’s security posture internally to executives and externally to institutional clients including Bitwise, Galaxy, Anchorage Digital, Coinbase, Binance, and Kraken.
• Maintain deep technical proficiency across cloud environments, CI/CD pipelines, identity systems, and application security to earn trust within a highly technical organization.
• Foster a culture of low ego, high support, and open context-sharing, aligning with Morpho’s values of questioning work and justifying decisions.
• Continuously evolve security posture in response to exponential growth, $12B+ in network deposits, and expanding institutional adoption.

🎯 Requirements

• 10+ years in security, with several years building or leading a security function, ideally in crypto/web3, fintech, or financial services
• Proven hands-on technical expertise in cloud, infrastructure, CI/CD, supply-chain, identity, and application security
• Experience owning end-to-end incident response, including incident command and external communication
• Demonstrated success in leading an organization through certifications such as SOC 2 or ISO 27001
• Strong ability to build and grow a security team from a small base, recruiting across security operations and application/infrastructure security
• Exceptional communication skills, credible to executives and external institutional audiences
