- • As VP, Head of State Government Affairs, you will lead Allstate’s state legislative and regulatory strategy to protect families and advance the company’s mission in property and casualty insurance, directly influencing outcomes that shape industry standards and public policy.
- • You will develop and execute comprehensive state legislative priorities, manage regulatory risk intelligence, advise senior leaders on complex policy matters, and guide AI and emerging technology policy strategy while mentoring a team of government affairs professionals and regulatory counsel.
- • You will join Allstate’s Government & Industry Relations team, a strategic unit with over 90 years of innovation in consumer protection, working under the Senior Vice President of Government & Industry Relations to drive enterprise-wide regulatory alignment and growth.
- • You will develop executive-level expertise in insurance regulation, AI policy, and stakeholder influence, shaping enterprise decision-making, building high-performing teams, and translating regulatory insights into actionable strategies that drive business impact and innovation.
🎯 Requirements
- • 4 year Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred
- • 10+ years in state government affairs, legislative/regulatory policy, or related roles
- • Strong understanding of P&C insurance regulation, including rate and form issues, underwriting, claims, and consumer protection
- • Demonstrated success in legislative advocacy and regulatory engagement
- • Managerial experience, including leading staff and overseeing legal or regulatory counsel
- • Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship building skills
