- • Lead and evolve Seccl’s trading capability as the company scales, owning end-to-end execution, settlement, and post-trade operations with strong operational control
- • Ensure trading operations comply with regulatory frameworks including CASS, MiFID II, and COBS, maintaining robust books and records integrity and control frameworks
- • Support and set performance standards for the trading operations team, focusing on operational resilience, incident management, and continuous improvement
- • Own and manage relationships with key market infrastructure providers, execution partners, and trading venues
- • Play a central role in delivering Seccl’s new direct-to-market trading capability by defining and embedding the operational and control framework that supports it
- • Collaborate closely with Product and Engineering teams to translate trading and market structure requirements into scalable platform capabilities, workflows, and automation
- • Shape key design decisions across market connectivity, smart order routing, market data architecture, best execution monitoring, and execution infrastructure
- • Ensure the trading function is operationally ready to support new capabilities, including developing processes, procedures, controls, monitoring systems, and operational support structures
- • Maintain direct involvement in daily trading operations while simultaneously driving structural change and long-term infrastructure development
- • Act as the primary point of accountability for trading performance, control, and innovation across the platform
- • Work in a hybrid model with two days per week in either the Edinburgh or London office, with monthly travel required between offices including Bath
- • Contribute to a fast-paced, high-growth environment where autonomy, ownership, and execution are critical to success
- • Influence senior stakeholders across Product, Engineering, Compliance, Risk, and Finance to align trading strategy with broader platform goals
- • Maintain an active understanding of market structure dynamics and regulatory evolution to proactively adapt trading operations
- • Support direct market execution activity where required, leveraging appropriate Level 4 trading or securities qualifications
- • Drive innovation in trading architecture to reduce costs, increase control, and improve client experience through a modernized brokerage model
🎯 Requirements
- • Significant senior experience leading trading or dealing operations within an investment platform, broker, or wealth platform environment
- • Deep knowledge of trading infrastructure and market operations including settlement cycles, custodians, CREST, and direct market connectivity
- • Experience implementing or delivering direct market access or brokerage infrastructure
- • Deep understanding of regulatory frameworks such as CASS, MiFID II, and COBS as they apply to real trading operations
- • Hold an appropriate Level 4 trading or securities qualification
- • Experience working closely with engineering teams to deliver trading platform capabilities
