📋 Description

  • • The Health Information Specialist I role at Datavant is an entry-level position focused on processing medical record requests (Release of Information) with accuracy, timeliness, and strict adherence to HIPAA and company policies to protect patient privacy.
  • • Day-to-day responsibilities include receiving and processing requests for patient health information via phone, maintaining confidentiality, documenting data across multiple platforms using dual monitors, preparing and assembling patient charts, creating digital images of paperwork, responding to internal and external record requests, answering inbound/outbound calls, assisting with walk-ins, handling faxes and mail, performing data entry, and meeting site-specific productivity expectations.
  • • Datavant is a trusted data collaboration platform in healthcare, dedicated to making health data secure, accessible, and actionable for providers, health plans, researchers, and life sciences companies; the team is highly collaborative and mission-driven, working to transform how data improves health outcomes.
  • • In this role, you will gain hands-on experience with healthcare data privacy regulations (HIPAA), develop strong administrative and customer service skills in a high-volume environment, become proficient in medical record management systems and Microsoft Office, and build a foundation for a career in health information management or healthcare operations.

🎯 Requirements

  • • High School Diploma or GED
  • • Basic computer proficiency and strong data entry skills
  • • Professional verbal and written communication skills in English
  • • Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and compliance in medical records
  • • Ability to organize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • • Comfortable using phones, fax machines, printers, and general office equipment
