📋 Description

• As a Hedge Fund Coach at Leland Technologies Inc., you will play a pivotal role in democratizing access to elite financial career guidance by mentoring aspiring professionals seeking to break into competitive hedge fund roles. Your expertise will directly empower students and early-career candidates to navigate rigorous recruiting processes, build compelling narratives, and develop the analytical mindset required by top-tier funds—thereby advancing Leland’s mission to unlock human potential through accessible, world-class coaching.
• You will conduct one-on-one virtual coaching sessions focused on hedge fund interview preparation, including technical and behavioral interview strategies, case study walkthroughs, and pitch development tailored to specific fund types (e.g., long/short equity, macro, quant). Each session will be customized to the mentee’s background, target firms, and current stage in the recruitment cycle, ensuring actionable, personalized guidance.
• You will review and provide detailed feedback on resumes, cover letters, and personal statements, helping candidates articulate their relevant experience, technical skills, and passion for investing in a way that resonates with hedge fund recruiters and highlights their unique value proposition.
• You will guide mentees in developing strong investment thinking by reviewing stock pitches, investment theses, and market analysis assignments, offering constructive critique on logic, data usage, valuation methods, and risk assessment—mirroring the rigor used in real hedge fund research processes.
• You will share insights on networking strategies, informational interviewing, and how to effectively engage with professionals in the hedge fund industry, drawing from your own experience to demystify the relationship-building aspects of breaking into the field.
• You will collaborate with Leland’s coaching team and product specialists to refine coaching methodologies, contribute to resource libraries (e.g., sample pitches, interview question banks), and participate in feedback loops that enhance the overall quality and scalability of the coaching experience.
• You will operate as an independent contractor with full autonomy over your schedule, session frequency, and pricing, allowing you to balance coaching with other professional or personal commitments while building a meaningful side practice in talent development.

🎯 Requirements

• Proven experience working at an established hedge fund (e.g., long/short equity, macro, quant, credit, or multi-strategy) in an investment, research, or analyst role.
• Demonstrated experience interviewing, evaluating, or hiring candidates for hedge fund positions, providing firsthand insight into what top funds prioritize during recruitment.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to convey complex investment concepts clearly and adapt guidance to varying levels of candidate experience.
