📋 Description
- • As OpenAI’s Human Rights & Responsible Deployment Lead (National Security), you will play a critical role in ensuring that OpenAI’s technologies are deployed in ways that respect human rights while enabling responsible national security use.
- • You will operationalize governance frameworks for high-risk national security use cases, develop decision-making criteria, assess risks, and support leadership in balancing mission impact, safety, and human rights considerations.
- • You will collaborate with research and product teams to integrate human rights into AI model design and deployment, expand red teaming with human rights expertise, and engage external stakeholders including human rights organizations and policymakers.
- • You will build internal enablement materials, support leadership on human rights in high-stakes contexts, establish post-deployment monitoring frameworks, and ensure lessons learned inform future governance and policy decisions.
- • OpenAI’s mission is to ensure artificial intelligence benefits all of humanity, and this role sits at the intersection of technology, policy, and operations to ensure responsible AI adoption in defense, intelligence, and civilian agencies.
🎯 Requirements
- • 10+ years of experience in human rights, national security, conflict, or related policy fields.
- • Deep expertise in human rights standards and their application in complex, real-world operational contexts.
- • Experience working with or within government, military, intelligence, or international institutions preferred.
- • Demonstrated ability to build or influence governance frameworks and decision-making processes.
- • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively across technical, policy, and external stakeholder groups.
