- • SOLV Energy is seeking a dedicated and experienced HV Training and Technical Support Specialist to join our dynamic team. This fully remote position plays a crucial role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our high-voltage (HV) infrastructure projects nationwide. You will be instrumental in developing essential training materials and providing critical technical support to our Operations Control Center (OCC) operators and HV technicians and contractors.
- • Safety is paramount in this role. You will be expected to champion and enforce strict adherence to company and industry safety standards, ensuring a safe working environment for all personnel. This includes understanding, following, and effectively communicating safety regulations and work procedures to team members.
- • A key responsibility will be the development of comprehensive HV technical training materials. This involves close collaboration with the HV Training and Technical Support Supervisor and other SOLV employees to create engaging and informative content that enhances the skills and knowledge of our field teams.
- • You will provide vital support to the OCC, offering power systems analysis and operational guidance as needed. This includes assisting with the generation and approval of test plans for technicians and subcontractors, and occasionally reviewing and approving High Voltage Test Reports for acceptance and maintenance testing activities.
- • This role requires a proactive approach to technical support. You will provide on-call HV support and daytime HV support to both the OCC and field technicians, ensuring timely resolution of issues and minimal disruption to operations.
- • You will also remotely support EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) startup and commissioning activities, as well as O&M (Operations & Maintenance) testing and commissioning activities, contributing to the successful lifecycle of our projects.
- • As a Subject Matter Expert (SME), you will provide valuable advice to clients, helping them navigate complex technical challenges.
- • You will be involved in supporting, preparing, and presenting Root Cause Analysis (RCA) findings for equipment failures, identifying the underlying issues and recommending solutions.
- • Furthermore, you will support NERC (North American Electric Reliability Corporation) Misoperations reports and assist in the preparation and presentation of Corrective Actions (CA) for any Human Performance (HP) issues identified within HV operations, promoting continuous improvement.
- • Performance in this role will be measured by adherence to company policies and procedures, excellent attendance and punctuality, a strong understanding and application of safety and quality procedures, and high levels of customer/client satisfaction.
- • You will also be responsible for directing the proper and safe operation of various electrical test equipment and demonstrating continuous personal professional growth and education.
- • The role requires effective communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact with clients, vendors, and teammates. Strong organizational skills are essential for managing multiple tasks and responsibilities.
- • You will be expected to champion diversity, equity, and inclusion as an integral part of SOLV's culture, fostering a welcoming and respectful work environment.
- • This position requires the ability to work in a rotational on-call schedule, which may include weekends or after-hours situations, reflecting the 24/7 nature of power generation facility operations.
- • While the role is primarily remote, there may be occasional requirements to work near medium and high voltage equipment if travel to a site becomes necessary, demanding a keen awareness of potential hazards.
- • You will utilize effective computer operation skills and be proficient in operating system testing applications to perform your duties.
- • The ability to train and develop others is a key aspect of this role, contributing to the overall technical expertise of the team.
- • You must demonstrate the ability to recognize work hazards and effectively mitigate them using proper tools and procedures.
- • A valid driver's license, a satisfactory driving record, and the ability to operate a company vehicle are required.
- • CPR/First Aid training is also a necessary qualification for this position.
- • This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to critical infrastructure projects, enhance safety protocols, and develop the next generation of HV technicians, all within a supportive and forward-thinking organization.
