- • Adapt in-game content linguistically and culturally to preserve the original tone, intent, and immersive experience across multiple languages and regions.
- • Localize in-game text, UI, dialogue, subtitles, and narrative content for target languages while maintaining tone, style, and context.
- • Ensure cultural relevance and sensitivity by adapting content appropriately for regional audiences.
- • Review and edit localized content for accuracy, consistency, and quality.
- • Support the maintenance of glossaries, style guides, and terminology databases.
- • Work with localization QA teams to identify and resolve linguistic bugs in-game.
- • Provide feedback on localization pipelines and suggest improvements for efficiency and quality.
- • Coordinate with language teams.
🎯 Requirements
- • Native-level fluency in the target language.
- • ISO 17100 Certification Criteria: A graduate qualification in translation, linguistics, or language studies, OR A graduate qualification in another field plus 2 years of full-time professional translation experience, OR 5 years of full-time professional translation experience.
- • 3+ years demonstrable experience in localizing in-game video content.
- • In-depth and practical understanding of the nuances and considerations of translating the following gaming content types: UI content/menus, mission text, non-player character (NPC) ambient dialogue, locked cutscene subtitle blocks.
- • Transcreation experience specifically within the gaming sector, translating NBA-related content for video games.
- • Familiarity with game engines and localization pipelines.
- • Knowledge of scripting formats (e.g., XML, JSON) is a plus.
- • Passion for video games, especially sports, action, or narrative-driven titles.
