  • • Serve as an Independent Board Director for Appodeal, Inc., providing strategic guidance to the CEO and leadership team on the development of a machine learning-powered performance demand-side platform (DSP).
  • • Contribute to board discussions on DSP product strategy, advertiser acquisition and growth, competitive positioning in performance advertising, and machine learning-driven ad optimization.
  • • Offer independent, high-level strategic insight into performance advertising market dynamics, industry trends, and emerging competitive threats.
  • • Leverage deep operator-level experience from leading performance advertising platforms to advise on the design, scaling, and monetization of ML-based bidding systems.
  • • Support the evaluation of major strategic initiatives related to Appodeal’s advertising infrastructure, DSP, and SSP ecosystems.
  • • Provide perspective on industry partnerships and ecosystem developments to ensure Appodeal remains aligned with evolving performance advertising standards.
  • • Engage in quarterly board meetings and participate in occasional strategic discussions with executive leadership—this is a non-executive, non-operational role with no day-to-day responsibilities.
  • • Utilize an established industry network to connect Appodeal with key stakeholders, partners, and thought leaders in the performance advertising and mobile app monetization space.
  • • Apply long-term thinking to help shape the development of a durable, global performance advertising platform that enables advertisers to acquire users efficiently through data-driven optimization.
  • • Challenge assumptions constructively while maintaining an independent mindset aligned with Appodeal’s mission to empower successful mobile app businesses.
  • • Remain informed on advancements in programmatic advertising, algorithmic bidding, and real-time ad auction systems to inform board-level decision-making.
  • • Contribute to discussions on how Appodeal’s broader ecosystem—including advertising infrastructure, DSP, SSP, and mobile game publishing—can be strategically aligned to maximize performance outcomes.
  • • Commit approximately four weeks per year to board-related activities, including preparation, meetings, and ad-hoc consultations with leadership.
  • • Represent the board’s fiduciary duty by ensuring strategic decisions support the company’s profitability, global growth, and technological leadership in mobile app monetization.

🎯 Requirements

  • • Deep expertise in performance advertising platforms, particularly DSPs powered by machine learning and optimization algorithms
  • • Operator-level leadership experience from leading performance advertising or performance marketing infrastructure companies
  • • Strong industry network and relationships within the performance advertising ecosystem
  • • High strategic judgment and ability to provide independent, board-level guidance
  • • Willingness to challenge assumptions constructively and think long-term about durable technology platforms
  • • Proven track record in advising on advertiser growth, retention, and competitive positioning in programmatic advertising
