đź“‹ Description

  • • Rox Data Corp is at the forefront of revolutionizing go-to-market strategies with its AI-native revenue operating system. Backed by prominent venture capital firms like Sequoia, GV, and General Catalyst, we are dedicated to transforming fragmented CRM workflows into intelligent, autonomous systems. Our platform seamlessly integrates data across the entire GTM stack, leverages AI agents to perform critical tasks, and provides revenue leaders with unparalleled clarity on the drivers of business outcomes. As a fast-moving Series A company, we are challenging entrenched industry norms by combining deep technical expertise with an unwavering focus on user value and utility.
  • • At Rox, security is not an afterthought; it is a fundamental enabler of our product and a cornerstone of customer trust. Our clients entrust us with their most sensitive revenue data, intricate workflows, and advanced AI-driven decision-making systems. Consequently, security must be meticulously integrated into every facet of our product development and operations. Currently, security responsibilities are distributed collaboratively across our Engineering, Platform, and Leadership teams. This newly established Information Security Lead role is designed to centralize ownership, elevate our security standards, and ensure Rox scales with a robust security posture that instills confidence in our customers, partners, and auditors.
  • • This is a unique opportunity to step into a founding Information Security Lead position, offering genuine end-to-end ownership. You will be instrumental in defining and executing Rox's comprehensive information security strategy. This encompasses everything from securing our cloud infrastructure and applications to establishing robust policies, managing audits, and developing effective incident response capabilities. While this role is hands-on in its current capacity, it is inherently a leadership position. You will lay the groundwork, set the industry-standard benchmarks, and play a pivotal role in shaping the future scaling of our security function. You will collaborate closely with our Engineering, Product, and Leadership teams to ensure that security acts as a catalyst for velocity, rather than a impediment, and that Rox consistently earns and maintains customer trust without compromising speed or agility.
  • • Your core responsibilities will include owning Rox's information security program from inception to ongoing management. This involves designing and implementing a secure architecture across our cloud infrastructure, applications, and data systems, ensuring that security principles are embedded at the foundational level. You will be responsible for establishing and maintaining comprehensive security policies, implementing effective controls, and championing best practices throughout the organization. A key aspect of this role will be partnering closely with the Engineering team to seamlessly integrate security into our development workflows and system design processes, fostering a culture of security-by-design.
  • • Furthermore, you will lead our compliance efforts, with a strong focus on frameworks such as SOC 2. This includes preparing for and managing audits, meticulously documenting our security posture, and ensuring ongoing readiness. You will define and refine our incident response processes, serving as the primary point of contact and owner during any security events. Proactive risk assessment will be a critical component of your role, coupled with the ability to clearly articulate identified risks and their associated tradeoffs to leadership. A significant part of your mandate will be to help shape the strategic direction for how the security function scales, including advising on future hiring needs, essential tooling, and process optimization.
  • • Success in this role will be measured by your ability to quickly grasp Rox's architecture, data flows, and potential risk surface within your initial weeks. Within a few months, you will have established clearer, more consistent, and easily adoptable security practices across the organization. Over the long term, your efforts will ensure Rox operates with a formidable security posture, leading to increased customer trust and enabling the company to scale its operations and product offerings without security becoming a bottleneck.
  • • This role is critical because Rox is experiencing significant growth, and trust is the bedrock upon which this expansion is built. This position exists to guarantee that security is intentionally owned, strategically managed, and architected for scalability from the outset, rather than being an afterthought. If you are passionate about building a security program from the ground up, thrive on close collaboration with product and engineering teams, and are eager to exert significant influence over how a company earns and preserves customer trust, this role offers an unparalleled opportunity to make a profound impact.

🎯 Requirements

  • • Proven experience leading information security or security engineering initiatives within B2B SaaS environments.
  • • Deep understanding of cloud security principles, application security best practices, and modern infrastructure (e.g., IaC, containerization).
  • • Hands-on experience with relevant compliance frameworks (e.g., SOC 2) and managing audit processes.
  • • Demonstrated ability to partner effectively with Engineering and Product teams, fostering collaboration and shared responsibility.
  • • Comfort and adaptability in fast-moving, ambiguous environments, with a knack for navigating complexity.
  • • Strong judgment and the ability to strategically balance rigorous security requirements with practical execution speed.
  • • Excellent communication skills, particularly in articulating complex technical risks and tradeoffs to diverse audiences, including leadership.

🏖️ Benefits

  • • Competitive salary and equity package, reflecting the foundational nature of this role.
  • • Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance.
  • • Generous paid time off (PTO) and company holidays.
  • • Remote-first work environment, promoting flexibility and work-life balance.
  • • Opportunity to build and shape a critical security program from the ground up, with significant autonomy and influence.
  • • Direct impact on customer trust and the overall success of a rapidly growing, well-funded startup.
