  • • As an Information System Security Manager (ISSM) at Istari Digital, you will be a pivotal leader within our Cybersecurity team, serving as the principal advisor on all technical and non-technical matters pertaining to the security of our information systems. Your expertise will be instrumental in safeguarding our digital engineering ecosystems, ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of sensitive data and critical infrastructure.
  • • You will be responsible for developing, implementing, and evaluating a comprehensive information system security program, ensuring strict adherence to both Federal and Commercial regulatory requirements. This includes staying abreast of evolving cybersecurity threats, vulnerabilities, and best practices to proactively defend our systems.
  • • This role demands a deep and nuanced understanding of cybersecurity principles, advanced practices, and established frameworks such as NIST, ISO 27001, and others relevant to our industry. You will translate these principles into actionable policies, procedures, and technical controls.
  • • You will collaborate closely with a diverse range of stakeholders across the organization, including engineering teams, IT operations, legal, and executive leadership. This cross-functional engagement is crucial for embedding security into the entire lifecycle of our digital engineering solutions and fostering a security-conscious culture.
  • • A key aspect of your role will involve conducting risk assessments, vulnerability analyses, and security audits to identify potential weaknesses and implement robust mitigation strategies. You will oversee the implementation of security controls, monitor system performance for security anomalies, and respond effectively to security incidents.
  • • You will play a critical role in ensuring compliance with relevant government regulations and industry standards. This includes understanding and applying requirements from agencies like the Department of Defense (DoD), National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), and other governing bodies that impact our work with sensitive data and government contracts.
  • • The ISSM will be responsible for managing security authorization processes, including developing and maintaining System Security Plans (SSPs), contingency plans, and incident response plans. You will lead efforts to achieve and maintain Authority to Operate (ATO) for systems under your purview.
  • • You will guide and mentor junior security personnel, fostering their professional development and ensuring the team operates at the highest level of competence. Your leadership will inspire a commitment to excellence in cybersecurity across the organization.
  • • This role requires a proactive approach to threat intelligence, staying ahead of emerging cyber threats and developing strategies to counter them. You will be instrumental in building and maintaining a resilient security posture that can adapt to the dynamic threat landscape.
  • • You will contribute to the continuous improvement of Istari's cybersecurity program by recommending and implementing new technologies, processes, and training initiatives. Your insights will shape the future of our security operations.
  • • The ISSM will also be involved in security awareness training for all employees, ensuring that everyone understands their role in maintaining a secure environment and adheres to company security policies.
  • • You will manage security-related projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and meet all security objectives. This includes planning, execution, and monitoring of project milestones.
  • • Your responsibilities will extend to overseeing the security aspects of cloud environments, containerization technologies, and other modern infrastructure components that support our digital engineering platforms.
  • • You will act as a point of contact for external auditors and regulatory bodies, facilitating security reviews and ensuring compliance with all requirements.
  • • The ISSM will be responsible for managing security incident response activities, including investigation, containment, eradication, and recovery, as well as post-incident analysis and lessons learned.
  • • You will contribute to the development and enforcement of security policies, standards, and guidelines that align with Istari's business objectives and risk tolerance.
  • • This role is essential for maintaining the trust and confidence of our customers and partners by demonstrating a strong commitment to protecting their data and intellectual property.
  • • You will be a key contributor to Istari's mission of creating the world's first open and scalable industrial metaverse, ensuring that security is a foundational element of this innovative endeavor.
  • • The hybrid nature of this role, requiring 3 days per week in our Arlington, VA office, allows for a blend of focused independent work and essential in-person collaboration, fostering strong team dynamics and effective communication.
