Full Job Description
đź“‹ Description
- • Own the full lifecycle of physical infrastructure deployment projects, including coordinating Low Voltage Contractor (LVC) schedules, managing access, material delivery, and staging with facility operations, and ensuring timely milestone achievement.
- • Serve as the primary on-site technical point of contact for LVCs and internal engineering teams, acting as remote hands during deployment, validation, and troubleshooting phases.
- • Conduct multi-stage QA/QC inspections on rack placement, racking, cable routing, grounding, and labeling to ensure strict compliance with Bill of Materials (BoM) and design documentation.
- • Perform and oversee optical loss testing (OLTS), OTDR analysis, and insertion/return loss measurements on all fiber links to guarantee link integrity before GPU power-on.
- • Verify copper cabling (Cat6a/Cat8) integrity using certified testers to meet performance and reliability standards.
- • Generate final test reports, as-built documentation, and root cause analyses (RCAs) for all deployed infrastructure, ensuring complete handoff to operations teams.
- • Apply BICSI best practices for fiber and structured cabling, maintaining adherence to safety codes, labeling policies, and hyperscale deployment standards.
- • Translate technical drawings and schematics (AutoCAD, Visio) to guide field execution and resolve design ambiguities during on-site installations.
- • Drive project completion through ambiguity by exercising extreme ownership, often expanding scope beyond core responsibilities to ensure operational readiness.
- • Travel up to 50% of the time to onsite turn-up locations across the U.S. to support concurrent gigawatt-scale data center builds.
- • Build and enforce field standards and QA gates that enable contractor crews to achieve first-pass-yield quality within days of onboarding.
- • Ensure every fiber termination and copper connection is tested and certified, treating quality as a gate—not a hope—to prevent training run failures at AI scale.
- • Collaborate with hardware and software teams to align physical infrastructure deployment with the rapid scaling of frontier AI compute infrastructure.
- • Maintain accurate documentation of all installations, including as-builts and RCAs, to support long-term operations, audits, and future expansions.
- • Champion velocity and first-principles thinking by challenging assumptions and optimizing deployment workflows to compress installation timelines from weeks to days.
- • Operate with full autonomy and extreme ownership, taking initiative to resolve bottlenecks and deliver mission-critical infrastructure on aggressive timelines.
🎯 Requirements
- • SME in fiber optics, structured cabling, and data center physical infrastructure with hands-on deployment experience on mission-critical sites.
- • Proficient in advanced fiber testing tools including OTDR, VFL, and power meters, with deep knowledge of installation techniques and design standards.
- • Proven experience racking, stacking, and cabling servers, network, and storage hardware at hyperscale.
- • Ability to read and translate technical drawings and schematics (AutoCAD, Visio) and drive projects to completion through ambiguity.
- • Willingness and ability to travel up to 50% for onsite turn-ups across the U.S.
- • Bonus: BICSI RCDD certification or vendor certifications (Cisco, Juniper); experience with hyperscale standardization programs or ITIL.
🏖️ Benefits
- • Competitive total compensation package (salary + equity).
- • Retirement or pension plan, in line with local norms.
- • Health, dental, and vision insurance.
- • Generous PTO policy, in line with local norms.
