Full Job Description

đź“‹ Description

  • • Own and evolve the enterprise collaboration backbone: You will architect, deploy and continuously improve the M365, Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint and Power Platform services that 10,000+ Leidos UK employees rely on every day to stay connected, productive and secure. Your designs will be measured on 99.9 % uptime, sub-second latency and zero-trust security posture.
  • • Be the go-to expert for Communications & Collaboration: From email routing to Teams telephony, you will provide third-line support, root-cause analysis and long-term fixes that prevent repeat incidents. You will act as the escalation point for the Service Desk and mentor junior engineers through war-room sessions and lunch-and-learns.
  • • Drive automation & shift-left: Using PowerShell, Azure Functions, Terraform and Logic Apps you will eliminate toil by automating user provisioning, mailbox migrations, retention policy enforcement and security response playbooks. Every script you commit is expected to save at least 10 man-hours per month and be reusable across the wider CIO Services portfolio.
  • • Secure the human layer: You will configure and tune Proofpoint TAP, SEG and PPS to stop phishing, BEC and malware before they reach the inbox. When threats do slip through, you will coordinate with the CSIRT team to execute containment, eradication and lessons-learned reviews that feed back into tighter controls.
  • • Deliver project outcomes: Whether it’s a tenant-to-tenant migration, a new Teams voice deployment or the rollout of sensitivity labels, you will translate business requirements into technical solutions, produce low-level designs, run pilots and manage cut-over weekends. You will track RAID logs and report progress in weekly steering-committee calls.
  • • Ensure compliance & governance: You will map controls to NIST 800-53, ISO 27001 and UK OFFICIAL standards, run quarterly access reviews, maintain data-loss-prevention policies and evidence packs for external audits. Gaps you discover will be closed within agreed time-boxes and documented in Confluence.
  • • Optimise performance & cost: Using Azure Monitor, Log Analytics and Power BI dashboards you will track service health, licence utilisation and cost trends. You will right-size resources, retire unused services and negotiate with Microsoft on our EA renewals to deliver measurable savings.
  • • Champion knowledge sharing: You will create and maintain run-books, architecture diagrams and troubleshooting guides in our ITIL-aligned knowledge base. You will also deliver monthly brown-bag sessions and contribute to the Leidos technical blog to raise the bar across the organisation.
  • • Provide transparent reporting: Every Friday you will publish a concise but insightful operations pack that covers incident trends, automation wins, security metrics and upcoming changes. Your reports will be read by the CIO and influence investment decisions.
  • • Work flexibly, deliver relentlessly: Based from Whiteley, Farnborough or Glasgow with hybrid working, you will balance home focus time with on-site collaboration days. You will participate in an on-call rota (1 week in 6) and respond to major incidents with the calm urgency our users expect.
