- • As an Infrastructure Engineer (Backend) at Counsel Health, you will operate at the critical intersection of application development and infrastructure, ensuring seamless integration between backend services and cloud systems to support AI-driven healthcare experiences.
- • You will contribute to Infrastructure-as-Code by developing and maintaining Terraform configurations for AWS and GCP environments, enabling reliable and scalable provisioning of cloud resources.
- • You will own and improve CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions or similar tools, focusing on making deployments fast, reliable, and automatic to increase engineering velocity.
- • You will write production backend services in TypeScript and Node.js, contributing to core server-side systems such as APIs, workers, and stream consumers that power clinical workflows.
- • You will build core archetypes for new deployments, jobs, and workers — creating reusable, production-grade templates for stream consumers, cron executors, and other infrastructure components used across teams.
- • You will enhance developer experience by improving local workflows, reducing build times, eliminating flaky tests, and building internal tooling that increases team productivity and satisfaction.
- • You will collaborate with security and compliance teams to harden infrastructure in a HIPAA-regulated environment, managing secrets, IAM policies, network isolation, and audit logging.
- • You will work within a mission-driven team combining clinical expertise from Harvard, Mt. Sinai, and Mass General with technical depth from Google, DeepMind, NVIDIA, and Stripe to scale AI-native healthcare.
- • You will have the opportunity to own significant infrastructure and backend systems as the company scales, directly impacting patient care and physician productivity through reliable, secure, and performant technology.
🎯 Requirements
- • 3-5 years of professional experience in backend engineering, infrastructure engineering, or a hybrid of both.
- • Strong proficiency in at least one strongly-typed or compiled language (e.g., Go, Rust, Java, TypeScript, or Typed Python).
- • Experience with AWS and/or GCP cloud services, including core services like EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS, or equivalent.
- • Familiarity with containerized environments and Docker for building, shipping, and running applications.
- • Hands-on experience writing and maintaining Terraform or equivalent Infrastructure-as-Code tooling.
- • Proven track record building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, CircleCI, or similar platforms.
