• • The Inpatient Medical Coder II role is critical to ensuring accurate reimbursement and compliance by translating clinical documentation into standardized medical codes that support hospital operations and financial integrity.
• • Day to day, the coder reviews patient medical records, assigns ICD-10-CM/PCS and CPT/HCPCS codes, sequences diagnoses and procedures according to official guidelines, enters data into the hospital’s computerized system, and validates DRG assignments for optimal reimbursement.
