  • • Own the end-to-end lifecycle of insight products that power every major business decision at Forbes Advisor. You will design reusable analytical frameworks—LTV, attribution, retention, funnel performance—and partner with Data Engineering & Analytics Engineering to turn them into production-grade dbt models with full testing, versioning, and CI/CD. Your work will be the single source of truth used by SEM, Product, RevOps and GMs to decide where to spend the next ÂŁ1M or which feature to ship next.
  • • Lead and grow a high-performing team of 2–3 analysts (plus dotted-line juniors). You will set quarterly OKRs, run weekly prioritisation clinics, coach on SQL elegance and statistical rigour, and institute a delivery rhythm that turns stakeholder questions into documented, decision-ready insight within days—not weeks. Expect to review code, pair on gnarly joins, and still roll up your sleeves to write the final 200-line query when a deadline looms.
  • • Translate raw business curiosity into crisp analytical briefs. When the GM asks, “Why did leads drop in Germany last week?” you will reframe it as a testable hypothesis, scope the required data (GA4 events, Google Ads spend, Meta CPM, affiliate lead counts), design an experiment or observational study, and return a narrative that states what happened, why it matters, and exactly which lever to pull next.
  • • Drive the evolution of our self-serve intelligence layer. You will rationalise the sprawling Tableau estate—merging duplicative dashboards, deprecating zombie views, and rebuilding the top 10 assets into governed, speed-optimised workbooks that load in <3 seconds. Your team will also pilot AI-assisted narratives: GPT-generated anomaly summaries, automated experiment readouts, and plain-English takeaways pushed to Slack every morning.
  • • Be the bridge between Analytics, Data Engineering, and Product. You will write detailed dbt specs (YAML, tests, docs), review pull requests for modelling logic, and brief new pipeline requirements when we onboard TikTok Ads or a fresh affiliate API. When upstream data breaks at 7 a.m., you’ll triage, patch, and communicate impact before stakeholders finish their coffee.
  • • Influence at the highest level. You will present to the Exec team monthly, translating complex models into three-bullet takeaways that decide budget re-allocation. You’ll also run quarterly “Insight Days” where your team showcases the biggest wins, teaches stakeholders how to use new self-serve tools, and gathers feedback for the next roadmap.
  • • Champion a culture of analytical excellence. Define coding standards (SQL style guide, dbt conventions), institute peer review gates, and create a reusable library of macros and UDFs that cut delivery time by 30%. Measure your own impact through adoption metrics: number of active dashboard users, % of decisions citing your models, and reduction in ad-hoc ticket volume.
  • • Stay ahead of the curve. Evaluate new data sources (server-side GA4, privacy sandbox conversions), experiment with causal inference or uplift modelling, and prototype LLM-powered classification that tags thousands of creative assets by sentiment and performance. You will publish internal blogs, run lunch-and-learns, and position Forbes Advisor as the place where cutting-edge analytics meets real business value.

🎯 Requirements

  • • 7–10 years in analytics or data science roles with demonstrable experience owning insight products end-to-end; equivalent rapid-growth trajectories welcome
  • • Expert-level SQL and hands-on dbt (data modelling, testing, documentation) in a Git-based workflow
  • • Strong Python for analysis & modelling (pandas, scikit-learn, NumPy) and familiarity with cloud data warehouses (BigQuery/GCP preferred)
  • • Proven leadership: line-managed analysts, set delivery processes, and coached teams to higher quality and speed
  • • Advanced Tableau (or Looker/Power BI) including performance tuning and stakeholder-ready design
  • • Deep understanding of digital marketing data—GA4, Google Ads, Meta, affiliate networks—and how to attribute revenue across channels
