- ⢠As a Virtual Medical Control (VMC) Physician with instED, you will serve as the clinician of record for patients receiving care through instEDās Mobile Integrated Healthcare service, making critical medical decisions that directly impact patient outcomes in home and community settings. Your role ensures timely, accurate, and compassionate acute care delivery for medically and socially complex individuals, bridging gaps in traditional healthcare access through innovative telehealth solutions.
- ⢠Day to day, you will provide patient-centered, high-quality acute care via telephonic, video, and direct messaging platforms to individuals with complex medical needs, following established clinical protocols. You will collaborate closely with mobile integrated healthcare clinicians (paramedics and EMTs), document encounters thoroughly in the EMR with accurate medical decision making and follow-up needs, and relay essential care instructions to the instED Clinical Resource Center (CRC) team. You will also participate in biannual performance reviews, scheduled operational or clinical meetings, and collaborate with other VMCs and CRC team members to manage visit volumes and address clinical questions.

- ⢠In this role, you will deepen your expertise in telemedicine and home-based care delivery, strengthen your ability to lead in team-based, remote clinical models, and contribute to shaping best practices in virtual acute care. You will have the opportunity to influence care delivery improvements through clinical and operational feedback, maintain and expand your professional licensure across states as instED grows, and enhance your skills in communicating complex medical information clearly and compassionately to patients, families, and interdisciplinary care teams.
šÆ Requirements
- ⢠Medical Doctor (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree required
- ⢠Three (3) years of experience as an attending physician in acute care and/or inpatient medicine required
- ⢠Active Board Certification in Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, or Emergency Medicine required
- ⢠Current DEA registration and ability to obtain active licensure in states where instED operates required
- ⢠Experience providing non-face-to-face care, especially in telephone or virtual care settings required
- ⢠Comfort with Health IT and EHR systems, including documentation of medical decision making and follow-up needs
