  • • Instructor, Structural Engineering (SE) Exam Prep (PPI) is a part-time, remote role focused on teaching live online prep courses for the Civil SE licensing exam, directly impacting the success of future engineers by providing expert instruction and mentorship during a critical stage of their professional journey.
  • • The role involves delivering technically accurate, engaging instruction in alignment with established curriculum and schedule, while serving as a subject matter expert and student advocate to drive learning outcomes and exam readiness.
  • • Day-to-day responsibilities include preparing for and hosting live webinar sessions, ensuring technical readiness (software, hardware, internet, quiet environment), logging in early, managing recordings, and submitting weekly feedback on course materials for continuous improvement.
  • • Instructors are expected to mentor students, demonstrate strong teaching presence, and maintain a focus on student success through clear communication, responsiveness, and subject mastery in structural engineering topics relevant to the NCEES SE exam.
  • • The role requires weekly submission of errors, revisions, or improvements to course slides or materials, ensuring content remains current, accurate, and pedagogically effective throughout the program duration.
  • • Instructors must confidently utilize online classroom technology to deliver seamless, professional sessions while adhering to Kaplan’s standards for instructional quality and student engagement.

🎯 Requirements

  • • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
  • • Licensed Structural Engineer (SE) through NCEES (Civil PE alone is not eligible)
  • • Ability to effectively utilize online classroom technology
