- • Integration Engineer at Kombo responsible for building, deepening, and maintaining integrations that power the unified API for HR, payroll, and recruiting systems, enabling customers to connect to over 100 platforms through a single integration.
- • Day-to-day work includes debugging production issues, collaborating directly with customers to understand integration challenges, extending existing integrations with new features (e.g., hiring team support for Personio, pay rate support for Paycor), and owning end-to-end resolution of complex integration failures.
- • Kombo is a YC S22 startup with $30M+ in funding, $10M+ ARR, hundreds of customers, and a team of 50+ across Berlin and NYC, processing data equivalent to 10% of Germany’s workforce while maintaining a high-performance, writing-driven engineering culture.
- • The role offers rapid skill growth in complex system integration, deep domain expertise in HR/payroll systems, ownership of customer-impacting features, and a clear path toward becoming either an Integration & Domain Expert or transitioning into broader Product Engineering.
🎯 Requirements
- • Hands-on experience building integrations or backend-heavy features as part of a product
- • ~2–3+ years of professional software development experience
- • Ability to solve technical problems and write clean, maintainable, well-structured code
- • Comfort working directly with customers to understand problems and help shape pragmatic solutions
- • Strong debugging skills and ability to learn new systems quickly
- • Enjoy collaborating closely with Product, Engineering, and Customer Success teams
