  • • Lead Vantage’s analysis and strategic positioning on generator interconnection policy and reforms across U.S. power markets, with primary focus on RTOs/ISOs including PJM, ERCOT, MISO, and SPP.
  • • Monitor and evaluate evolving interconnection developments at utility, state regulatory, RTO/ISO, and federal levels to identify impacts on Vantage’s data center development and market entry strategy.
  • • Track and actively participate in RTO/ISO stakeholder processes, including meetings, workshops, and formal filings related to interconnection and transmission planning.
  • • Develop clear, internally aligned positions and recommendations in response to proposed regulatory reforms and interconnection rule changes.
  • • Translate complex technical and regulatory changes into actionable business insights that inform site selection, project development, and long-term market strategy.
  • • Collaborate closely with internal technical, development, legal, and commercial subject matter experts to ensure policy positions are grounded in operational and commercial realities.
  • • Prepare concise briefing materials, summaries, and decision-support documents for senior leadership to guide strategic decisions.
  • • Support Vantage’s external engagement strategy by helping shape coordinated industry responses to regulatory initiatives and stakeholder communications.
  • • Analyze energy market reforms, interconnection queue dynamics, and transmission planning updates to assess implications for Vantage’s portfolio growth and operational efficiency.
  • • Serve as the internal authority on interconnection processes, ensuring all business units are informed of regulatory trends and policy risks.
  • • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of current RTO/ISO governance structures, procedural rules, and reform agendas across all major U.S. regional markets.
  • • Synthesize dense regulatory dockets, technical studies, and public comments into accessible, business-relevant insights for non-technical stakeholders.
  • • Communicate complex energy policy matters clearly and persuasively to internal leadership and external partners through written reports and verbal presentations.
  • • Work remotely from any U.S. location with flexibility to engage across time zones in support of RTO/ISO schedules and stakeholder timelines.
  • • Perform additional duties as assigned by management to support the Energy Group’s mission and Vantage’s strategic objectives.

🎯 Requirements

  • • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree in energy regulation, economics, engineering, or a related field preferred
  • • 5–8+ years of experience in energy regulation, power markets, or interconnection-related reforms and strategy
  • • Strong current working knowledge of U.S. RTO/ISO structures, interconnection processes, and reform initiatives
  • • Proven experience monitoring RTO meetings, analyzing dockets, and developing positions related to regulatory reforms or written responses
  • • Ability to synthesize complex regulatory and technical material into clear, business-relevant insights
  • • Comfortable working cross-functionally with technical and non-technical stakeholders
