- • This internship offers a unique opportunity to contribute to operational excellence at Zayo Group Holdings, Inc., a global leader in mission-critical telecommunications infrastructure. As a Project Management & Process Improvement Intern, you will directly support efficiency, scalability, and quality across the organization by documenting workflows, identifying improvement opportunities, and assisting in the execution of strategic initiatives—making your work tangible and impactful in a fast-paced, innovative environment.
- • You will assist project managers with planning, organizing, and coordinating ongoing initiatives; maintain project schedules, action logs, meeting notes, and progress dashboards; track milestones and risks; and support cross-functional collaboration through clear communication and documentation.
- • You will document current-state workflows using tools like Visio, Lucidchart, or Microsoft 365; conduct interviews with subject matter experts to capture operational steps and dependencies; create standardized process documentation (SOPs, workflows, process maps, RACI charts); and identify bottlenecks, redundancies, or gaps through data review and observation.
- • You will analyze root causes and propose improvement opportunities using Lean, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement principles; support the design of future-state processes; pilot new workflows or tools and provide feedback; and measure outcomes of implemented improvements over time.
- • You will work on assigned business problems by developing structured problem statements, hypotheses, and solution recommendations; create simple KPIs or progress indicators to track success; and present findings to project teams and leadership in a clear, actionable format.
- • You will join Zayo’s Summer Internship Program, designed to cultivate the next generation of telecommunications professionals through meaningful, hands-on experience in a dynamic, fast-paced, and innovative environment, with mentorship from experienced leaders in operations and telecommunications.
- • You will gain tangible professional growth, including a portfolio of process maps, project artifacts, and improvement proposals; skills in documentation, workflow design, project coordination, and analytical thinking; and experience solving real business problems with measurable impact—all while building a foundation for a career in operations, project management, or telecommunications.
