📋 Description

  • The Intern – Regulatory/Accreditation Strategist role supports G.E.H.A’s mission to empower federal workers to be healthy and well by assisting in the management of regulatory and accreditation compliance for its health plan, ensuring adherence to standards that directly impact the quality and accessibility of care for over two million federal employees, retirees, and their families.
  • This internship provides a critical pipeline for talent development in healthcare compliance, offering hands-on experience in accreditation processes, policy analysis, and cross-functional collaboration—key competencies for future careers in healthcare administration, public health, or regulatory affairs.
  • Day-to-day responsibilities include collaborating with cross-functional partners to refine workflows and develop efficient tracking systems that enhance accreditation processes, ensuring alignment with evolving regulatory standards and internal quality benchmarks.
  • The intern will assist in preparing health plan accreditation documents, including gathering evidence, organizing submissions, and supporting documentation required by accrediting bodies such as NCQA or URAC.
  • They will conduct gap analyses to identify areas of non-compliance or improvement opportunities, synthesizing data from multiple sources to prioritize corrective actions and readiness initiatives.

🎯 Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in an accredited undergraduate or graduate program with a focus on healthcare administration, public health, business, or a related field.
  • Minimum 3.0 overall GPA.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) for data analysis, document preparation, and presentation development.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities, with demonstrated initiative both independently and within collaborative settings.
  • Strong analytical skills and interest in healthcare quality, compliance, and accreditation processes.
  • Authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship now or in the future.
