- • As an Intern - Social Media at Government Employees Health Association, Inc. (G.E.H.A), you will support the organization’s mission to empower federal workers to be healthy and well by contributing to social media initiatives that enhance brand awareness, audience engagement, and executive thought leadership. This role plays a vital part in amplifying G.E.H.A’s reach among over two million federal employees, retirees, and military families through strategic content creation and digital engagement.
- • You will gain hands-on experience in social media strategy, content production, and performance analysis while working remotely with a collaborative marketing team, helping to shape how a mission-driven nonprofit communicates its value in the digital space.
- • Day-to-day responsibilities include collaborating with marketing, communications, and brand partners to support social media activities and campaign execution; assisting with content creation, post-production, scheduling, and publishing across platforms such as LinkedIn, Instagram, and Facebook, including emerging formats like reels and short-form video; capturing, creating, and curating compelling content for brand spokespersons and executives; researching trends, hashtags, and best practices to inform content ideation; drafting engaging captions and copy aligned with brand voice; monitoring social channels for community engagement and flagging inquiries or issues; tracking metrics and compiling performance reports; and contributing to presentations that summarize campaign insights and recommendations.

🎯 Requirements
- • Currently enrolled in an accredited undergraduate or graduate program with a focus on marketing, communications, digital media, journalism, business, or a related field
- • 3.0 overall GPA
- • Strong written and verbal communication skills with attention to detail
- • Creative mindset with the ability to generate engaging content ideas
- • Video and image capture, editing, and post-production experience
- • Demonstrated initiative both independently and within a team environment
- • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- • Familiarity with major social media platforms and trends (e.g., LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook)
- • Interest in social media, digital marketing, brand storytelling, and audience engagement
- • Ability to organize, prioritize, and manage multiple tasks
- • Authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship now or in the future
