  • • This internship offers a unique opportunity to support strategic sourcing and vendor management within a mission-driven nonprofit that serves over two million federal employees, retirees, and their families with medical and dental benefits. As part of G.E.H.A’s commitment to empowering federal workers to be healthy and well, the intern will contribute directly to ensuring the accuracy, compliance, and efficiency of vendor contracts—critical to maintaining reliable healthcare access for members nationwide.
  • • Day-to-day responsibilities include reviewing contracts for key dates and terms, calculating lifetime value of vendor agreements, preparing clear and insightful presentations of findings, ensuring proper contract linkage and naming conventions, identifying data quality issues and trends in contract metadata, and supporting the organization and streamlining of the Vendor Management Organization’s virtual filing system. Interns will also assist in updating contract lifecycle management tools and may work on projects focused on data integrity and process improvement.
  • • The Procurement and Vendor Management team at G.E.H.A plays a vital role in sustaining the organization’s ability to deliver high-value benefits through efficient, compliant, and cost-effective vendor relationships. Operating within a nimble and mission-focused environment, the team emphasizes precision, collaboration, and continuous improvement to support G.E.H.A’s goal of personalized, accessible healthcare for its members.
  • • Through this internship, the individual will gain hands-on experience in healthcare procurement, contract analysis, and vendor lifecycle management while developing proficiency in data interpretation, professional communication, and Microsoft Office applications—particularly Excel for financial analysis. The role fosters initiative, attention to detail, and teamwork in a remote setting, providing a strong foundation for future careers in sourcing, supply chain, healthcare administration, or business operations.

🎯 Requirements

  • • Currently enrolled in an accredited undergraduate or graduate program
  • • 3.0 overall GPA or higher
  • • Authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship now or in the future
  • • Strong analytical and critical-thinking skills with demonstrated initiative
  • • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and documentation abilities
  • • Proficient in Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • • Comprehension of basic legal language
