📋 Description
- • Teach Introduction to Programming in Python (CMSC 105) remotely as an adjunct faculty member for the University of Maryland Global Campus (UMGC), focusing on applied Python programming concepts including variables, data types, conditionals, loops, functions, lists, secure coding practices, and AI-assisted learning tools.
- • Engage adult learners through frequent interaction, collaborative problem- and project-based learning, timely feedback using rubrics, and connecting course concepts to broader academic and professional contexts.
- • Contribute to curriculum improvement by providing feedback to program leadership and supporting student success in a mission-driven institution serving 90,000+ students, including working adults, parents, minorities, and U.S. military personnel.
- • Develop teaching expertise in online higher education while completing required faculty training (FacDev 411) and advancing as a scholar-practitioner in computer science education.
🎯 Requirements
- • Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Information Technology, or a related field from an accredited institution.
- • Professional experience in Computer Science or a related field.
- • Proficiency in Python programming.
- • Experience teaching adult learners online and in higher education (strongly preferred).
- • Ability to teach remotely and commitment to student-centered, active learning pedagogy.
